A/N: HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!! I hope you all had a great Christmas, Hanukkah, EID or whatever other holiday you may celebrate :) The schedule I told you all about in my update shall now commence forward as planned so I hope you enjoy! <3
"That guy looks like he needs a coffee himself." Sky mumbles, interrupting my reading of the plaque next to the stone age caveman exhibit.
I look up and see Sky holding out the reusable travel mug he got me from Starbucks for my birthday, his attention not on me but on the caveman climbing a tree in the exhibit. I take the coffee cup and thank him, turning my attention to the scene in front of us.
"Coffee hadn't been invented yet but I get your point," I say, taking a sup from the cup. "If they did feel tired or got a headache, they would hammer a hole into the persons head because they believed demons were inside the skull, filling it with some sort of evil, demonic and needed to be banished and that was the only way they could think to get rid of them." I explain, looking over at Sky who's giving me a weary look.
"What? I read it on the plaque!" I snap, holding my hands up in defence.
Sky shook his head, a hint of a smile shadowing across his lips. "You are a wonder Cook..." He mumbles, taking a long, slow sip from his own coffee cup.
"Why thank you Flaherty." I grin, curtsying to him, almost tumbling to the ground but he catches me just in time and we both start giggling, so much so I almost drag Sky down with me. We straighten up, our laughter still coming out in small gasps and we look at each other, going quiet as we made eye contact.
Our fits of giggles died down after a while but our grins and eye contact stayed fixed on each other for what felt like hours. We only realised we were still standing and staring at each other once three kids, two girls and a boy rushed past us, forcing us apart instantly, giggling as they went themselves.
A tired dad then trudged up to us, huffing out a long sigh and grumbling to himself, muttering his apologies to the pair of us before jogging to catch up with his kids.
Me and Sky look back at each other and grin widely, bursting into fits of giggles again.
"I think we can both agree that he's in need of caffeine the most!" I laugh, wiping my eyes that had started tearing up.
"Even more than the caveman?" Sky questions, his eyebrow raised as we continue our walk around the museum.
I nod. "Definitely; one is a dad that has probably been up since 5 this morning and has to keep up with 3 5-9 year old kids whilst the other one died thousands of years ago...all his troubles and strife are over with at least!"
Sky purses his lips and nods along with my spiel. "I wonder how accurate the Flinstones is.."
I almost choke on my coffee, staring at him in bewilderment. "What?!"
"Come on, don't tell me you never thought about this?!" He questions, his eyes widen in shock as I shrug at him, "it's a cartoon, they're usually not that realistic SkyBelle!" I state matter-of-factly, tapping him on the nose gently.
Sky rolls his eyes. "That's totally beside the point Via!" He snaps and we both go off into a heated discussion about the realism of a cartoon TV series from the 60s about cavemen living in a fictional town where you kept dinosaurs as pets and showered with elephants.
"That's where the line should be drawn with that show; dinosaurs and humans didn't exist at the same time! SO how could they be used in construction projects and kept as pets?!"
"Seriously? That's the biggest problem you have with the Flinstones?!"
"And the fact non of the animals have any free will of their own! The birds are the needles for recorder players, elephants are showers and the only 'free' dinosaur is Dino and he's the family pet!"
