A/N: Nice long chapter for you today! Same old excuse for my schedule blips: been really busy and not had a lot of time between sleeping and work around the house. Hope you will forgive me as I gift you a nice long chapter! - ENJOY! <3
It had been just over a week since I had arrived in New York, my jet lag had somewhat subsided and I was in this weird limbo between constantly awake and buzzing on energy like I've drank 10 cups of coffee and so groggy my eyes won't stay open for more than 3 seconds, not to mention my limbs felt like concrete and ached so much.
This morning I was awoken to the sound of the radio blaring some trashy hip hop song and all the machines in the kitchen going off at once. I groan, flipping over and overs my head with the pillow to try and block out the sound but to no avail.
Giving up and feeling a little more awake and alert, I grumble and throw the comforter and pillows off my face and away from my body, inviting the bitter cold New York air to flow over all the exposed skin, sending goosebumps up and down my arms and on the back of my neck, I shudder, wrapping both arms around my shoulders, slumping over in exhaustion and trudging over to the door.
Walking into the living room dragging my blanket behind me, I blink the sleep from my eyes and squint at the scene before me.
It seems to me that every appliance in the kitchen is on and nearly every light in the apartment had been switched on too, (in fairness, it's still a little dark outside) and in the middle of it all, was Josh. He has his headphones on and seems to be completely oblivious to my presence, I huff and march over to him, waving my arms, trying to get his attention.
"Josh!" I shout, or at least as much of a shout as I can manage, to no avail as Josh keeps bobbing his head, humming along to his music as he blends a concoction in the blender. I groan, grabbing a handful of blueberries and throwing them at his head, he flinches, removing the headphones and looking up at me.
"Olivia? What the hell?!" he snapped, bending down and picking up the thrown blueberries.
"What the hell? REALLY?! Have you any idea what time it is?" I snap back, walking around the counter to help him with the blueberries, only feeling a tiny bit of guilt for throwing them at him.
Josh laughed, putting the berries into their original bowl, "uhh, it's 8 o'clock...why?"
"It's early, I was still asleep!" I say through gritted teeth, taking the bowl from him and putting the berries I had collected back into it.
Josh furrowed his brow at me, "I thought Ben woke you up like an hour ago."
I squint at him in confusion, "no, why would he?" I ask as Ben stumbled out of the bathroom, a toothbrush hanging from his mouth as he tugged on his other shoe.
"mmf ffrrr wirrf mur tfder." Ben says, the toothbrush muffling his words, I give him a look and he takes it out of his mouth and repeats himself, "cause you're coming with me today."
I'm still confused, furrowing my brow at him. "Coming with you where?"
he zips up his hoodie and grabs his bag. "Work? At the theatre? C'mon, I told you about this last night." I shrug at him in response, "I don't remember that conversation..."
Ben grumbled, "well it happened, so can you please get dressed, I don't want to be late."
I just stare at him blankly, like I didn't understand what he had just told me. "I'm going back to bed." I grumbled, turning and heading back to the bedroom.
"I hope that's to get dressed because we need to leave!" Ben grumbled, getting more and more frustrated.
I huff and turn back to him, "Ben, it's 8 in the morning! You are the furthest away from late there ever was!"
