In math class the next day whilst Mrs Graham drones on about algebra equations, my phone buzzes in my pocket.
I pull it out of my pocket carefully.
I know I shouldn't be doing this and I'm in enough trouble as it is, but anything is better than screaming eternally inside my head for another hour because math is melting my brain from the inside out! I unlock my phone to see a picture sent to 'Sibling Chat Room' on WhatsApp. I click on it to make it bigger and realise it's my painting of Mr. Green on the lockers in the locker rooms. Underneath the photo is a message.
Ben Mom sent me this...did you really paint it V?
I groan. Great, Mr. Perfect Child knows, this is not my week.
I type back a reply.
Via Yeah, so?
Ben For one thing it's accurate as hell! Didn't even know Mr. Green still worked there
Via So...you aren't gonna lecture me?
Ben No. Why would I lecture you?
Via Because that's what you usually do when I get in trouble, no matter the distance you're still my annoying big brother
