Thomas's head shot up and his brows rose eagerly. The doorknob was turning. He silently hoped it was Patton, wanting only to fix his positive acquaintance. Of course, they were friends but he didn't want to admit that to himself. Especially not when he could be in a dire condition. Getting to close to someone was dangerous though sometimes inevitable. He and the team were as close to family as humanly possible. For a lot of us, our family was gone. Apart from Patton's parent's and my mom.

"Sup, Thomas." I was greeted by Virgil, who swung a peace sign as he entered. His dark purple hair hung lazily over his eyes. The anxious boy let out a relieved sigh at the sight of me. Kicking the door closed before he continued onward. "Am I the first one here? That's not good."

"Hey, Virge." I greeted back. "and yeah, Patton's having a few issues. But it's a surprise Logan didn't get here first." Virgil only nodded in agreement. He sauntered into the next part of the room, Spinning onto the long red couch. The boy crawled onto the far left, tucked in his legs, and pulled out a black stress ball to throw against the wall.

while he began to relax I continued to worry. I was about ready to smash the clock on my desk but instead settled for looking over the room for the millionth time. The white walls were accompanied by a brown wood floor and red carpet. A large cut in the wall allowed me to stare into the semi lounge area. One large screen was propped on the wall while one smaller screen hung in my room, showing me the complex's security system.

The door swung open so quickly it banged against the wall paired beside it. In came Roman, strolling proudly into the room. "Greetings Thomas! How are you tonight?" He flashed a smile trying desperately to liven up the tired atmosphere. Virgil groaned at the reminder. "I'm doing good Roman. You know, waking up to a police call at two in the morning...The usual" I rolled my eyes picking up my coffee and taking a long sip.

The door, that had begun backtracking slowly to its frame started creaking open again.

In came Logan, carrying a very delusional Patton in his arms. Blood had started soaking into the intellectual's shirt but he didn't seem to notice. "It's not as bad as it looks." He stated calmly taking notice of our exasperated expressions. It's rare to see Virgil jump to his feet so early in the morning. "Your beautiful and I love you! Beautiful, these are me frie-eends Virgil, Ramen, and Tommy."

"Ramen!" Roman shouted obviously offended. "Beautiful?" Virgil added. "I ship it."

"Do not 'Ship' it." He shifted the boy in his arms so he could air quote slightly. "He's lost blood and is delusional. Thomas, I could use some assistance."

Thomas nodded, rushing over to take Patton from Logan's arms. He instantly allowed it, knowing Thomas was further educated in the medical field than him. As well as Remy, Thomas's partner, who was probably already waiting in the medical room.

-----

As soon as Thomas left the room I felt myself start to sag. The weight of my earlier experience slowly coming back to me. "Hey Logan, you feeling alright?" I averted my gaze from the floor, being sure to keep my composer as I I glanced up at Virgil. The boy had asked from the edge of his seat, ready to jump back once again into action. Roman who had taken a seat beside him also glanced up looking unconsciously for a physical reaction. He probably wouldn't find one.

"Of course Virgil, satisfactory as always." I shifted my fake pair of glasses before taking them off completely. I only used them as a disguise. It's amusing how often it throws people off.

I turned on my heel and left the way I came. This took me to the main hall where I could pinpoint my temporary bunker. Thomas and Remy are the only ones that stay here 24/7 while the rest of us live in pairs of two across the city. That way we could split up and locate a possible threat quicker. However, in an occurrence where we could not return home, we had our own rooms here at V.I.N.E.S. (the Virtuous Inner Network of East Supervision).

I entered my room. The walls a dark blue and the floor dawning a white carpet. I closed the door behind me and set my fake specs on the nightstand beside me. I sat on the bed bouncing slightly as I thought. The first thing I had to do was change my attire. I sighed, getting back up and switching my shirt for an exact copy. I folded my other bloody shirt neatly and set it on the side. I would escort it later. As of now, it would be best if I continue to sleep. It's something I don't get to do often.

-----

Thirty minutes after Thomas had set me down I felt better. Remy patched me up with little interference apart from the phone call my mom started. Bandages were wrapped around my shoulder and a large bottle of water sat beside me which I refused to drink.

"Pat dude! If you don't start chugging that bottle this instant I'm gonna get an IV!" Remy warned. He wore a black leather jacket with a white undershirt. It didn't matter the condition the man always wore a pair of shades. He was standing at the foot of the bed, leaning on the frame. My eyes widened at his threat. "You wouldn't dare." I threatened back. The man only smirked. "watch me."

With that, he got up and opened up a few drawers, pulling out and Iv and Iv bag. "Virgil!" He started to call. I knew where this was going. "OK! OK! I'll do it." I finally gave in. Remy smiled again and I was tempted to toss the man into a wall. I didn't though, that would be mean.

Virgil popped his head in the door only to find Patton sitting in bed literally chugging a bottle of water. "What the-" Virgil mumbled to himself, "Oh!" Remy smiled. "Everythings good now, sorry for the alarm dude." I delivered a few slow nods, still very confused as I closed the door again. I didn't walk away though, instead, I stood at the door a while longer consistently letting out a monotone "uh".
