"I don't know." I blurted, but then my words smacked me in the face. I DIDN'T KNOW. Everyone glanced between themselves, prompting me to clear my throat. "I mean I don't-What I meant was-ha-give me a second-figuratively of cour-Uhh..." I trailed off my useless endeavor, rubbing my tired eyes.

"Kiddo, hey. It's oka-" "I am not your child Patton, once again that is impossible." I interrupted.

Roman rolled his eye's from afar. "Welp," He smiled, "I'm sure he'll be fine. He's still equally as annoying as before... feel free to go unconscious any time." My friend joked, causing the rest to fall into a fit of laughter, apart from Remy, who took another sip of his coffee.

I myself laughed. It was painful to a point but still bearable. I didn't understand myself. My head felt hazy and the veins in my arm pulsed quite abruptly. If I wasn't so light headed maybe I'd be able to think clearly and name out the symptoms. Sadly I couldn't do that.

-----

Everyone's face was red from laughing so hard, apart from Logan and Remy, whose laughter was a tad low-gan. However, my hand never left Lo's. To be honest, I was scared, he may be older than me, but to me, he still felt like my child. They were my responsibility.

From outside my thoughts, I felt Logan's hand clutched mine before releasing again. I lifted my head to get a better look at the leader. "Lo?" I asked tilting my head to the side. One brow rose, probably making me look like a puppy.

Logan's laughter had abruptly replaced by silence as his hand once again tightened around mine. The air around grew cold as confusion and panic finally reached the others. "Logan?" I repeated, my gut twisting with the sudden sense of dread. His nails dug into my arm, but I couldn't find the strength the pull away.

"Logan." Thomas snapped at the sight of my reaction. "Let him go your hurting him."

Logan wasn't listening, only harming me further. Roman and Virgil stepped between us, Roman trying to pull Lo one way and Virgil tugging me another.

"Stop-fricking let him go!-free-vamoose!-god damn it, he's got a strong grip!" Roman muttered under his breath. Finally, we fell apart, me and Virgil falling on the ground with a thud.

Without my presence, I watched the bed shake and shiver from a worm's eye view. "Logan, calm down!" I listened to Thomas shout, this had us scrambling to our feet.

"No! No, please!" My heart broke at the shattered tone. Here he was, crying. I didn't know he could do that.

"Virgil a little help here!" Roman called. Logan was screaming out now and Roman had to hold him back by his arm. Virgil shadow skipped across the room, reappearing at Lo's other side and started trying to hold him as well. It looked painful.

"Let me go!"

"No can do boss-"

"Please, STOP!!" He screamed, "Get out of my head!"

Get out of my head, I repeated the phrase in my head. Roman and Virgil also noticed this and let the side free. Virgil let go, but not before pulling the screaming side into a hug. Moments later the shouting ceased. Virgil must've hit his snooze button. Even though it was quiet, everyone was still, standing in the tension.

"Yo," Remy cut in, pausing a moment to sip his coffee. "I can't be the only one that heard get out of my head, right?"

"No, we heard it too," I replied. "W-what's even wrong with him?"

-----

"hallucinations?" I suggested. We were sitting together in the lounge room. Virgil sat close beside me, Thomas sat on my other side, while Patton pondered at the edge of his lounge chair. We've been brainstorming Logan's comment for about twenty minutes now.

"I mean, maybe." Virgil agreed, pulling at his sleeves.

Thomas, who was doing paperwork as we theorized, hummed in response.

Patton shook his head, removing his glasses a moment to wipe his eye's. "No, that's not it." I gestured for him to continue, but for a little while, he wasn't until he cleared his throat. "Hey Ro, guys, c-can I ha-ave a hug?"

Thomas lifted his head, looking to both doors before he set his binder to the side and crouched in front of Patton. The father had becume the son. "Sure Patton, what's up?" Was my response. I got off the couch, leaving Virgil to sit alone. I pulled the emotional hero to his feet and wrapped him in a hug. A sob escaped his mouth and Patton burst into tears on the spot.

"Pat?" Thomas started, rubbing his back as we all sat around him on the couch. "Pat, breath, what's wrong."

My friend cried out again and I hugged him a bit tighter. Virgil scooted up to my other side, I glanced back at the edge lord. He wasn't crying, but his eyes were glossed over. I gladly wrapped an arm around him as well. Finally, after another emotional ten minutes, Patton replied.

"I've never seen Logan cry before, I don't like it," Patton muttered. Their was a pause before Pat ducked back down into a tighter hug.

"He'll be okay, you can't get rid of him that easily." I smiled. "I know, I've tried."

It was at this moment, sitting on the couch, that it finally hit me. I have a family.
