The Olympian Council sat on their thrones atop Mount Olympus as they waited for Hades and his son to arrive. Their children were all training with Chiron the Centaur outside the palace.

The only Olympian Demigod that had met Hades was Collin. The rest was a bit nervous at the idea of meeting the Lord of the Dead and his son.

"He was really nice to me," Collin was telling the others as they all practised their archery. "He said thank you and everything!".

But the others weren't entirely convinced. Though Ellen, Daughter of Apollo, had a feeling that Hades' son would decide the fate of Olympus.

But before she could say anything, the air got really cold, making the everyone stop what they were doing. Then the shadows started moving towards the cobblestone path ahead.

The shadows removed themselves from the confines of physics and started clumping together to form two shapes out of darkness. The Demigods watched with wonder as the shadows formed the shape of a boy and a man before dropping back down to the ground and retreating back to their original positions.

The man wore a black armour that refused the shine, even in the light of the sun. He carried a two-pronged spear in one and while he carried a Greek helmet under his arm. The helmet radiated a fear so intense that it made Saytrs and Nymphs run in terror while the Bident emitted a sense of death that wilted the grass and cracked the stone everytime it banged against the ground. Everyone knew that the man was Hades, King of the Underworld, Lord of the Dead and God of Wealth.

But nobody knew who the boy was, except for Collin.

The boy wore a silver suit of armour with a purple cape pinned on his chest and hung under his left arm o it looked like a sash as well. He had purple hair, almost a greyish colour above black eyes. A scar ran over his right eye. At his waist, hung a scabbard that held a wicked looking blade of black metal. Next to him, padded a three-headed wolf.

The pair stopped just before the entrance to the palace. Hades said something in his son's ear that couldn't be heard from the distance the separated them from the training Demigods. Hades looked the Chiron and nodded before heading into the palace. His son, however, started walking towards the group with his Hellhound at his side.

"Half-Bloods," Chiron announced, "This is Bane La Mortis, Prince of the Underworld. He will be joining us today while he waits for his father".

"It is a pleasure," Bane said as he bowed towards the group, "And this is Cerberus," he added, indicating his companion.

"Would you like to spar with us?" Chiron asked Bane, "I hear that you train with the best".

Bane nodded, "I mainly spar with Thanatos, God of Death, but I occasionally have lessons with Achilles, Perseus and Theseus and Bellepheron".

"Aren't they dead?" someone asked.

"Yes," Bane replied, "So their souls are in the Underworld so I can talk to them".

"Do you have control over them?" a boy with light brown hair asked.

Bane smiled as he knelt and placed a hand on the grass. The blades of green started to wilt and the dirt started to dry and crack and a skelatal hand burst forward. The others jumped back in fright as the hand scrambled about, trying to pull the rest of the body up out of the depths.

The skeleton was covered in Greek armour the colour of dried blood. Its empty eye sockets stared at the group while its jaws gave it a sinister smile. It pulled an old sword out and held it at the ready.

"Who wants to go first?" Bane asked with a smile.

Over the next few hours, Bane and his skeleton sppared with the rest of the Demigods. Durng their fights, Bane learned more about them and soon became friends with a couple.

Collin Swift had lived with his aunt before he got a letter telling him who he was. A talk with his aunt proved that it was true and a few days later, Hermes came to take him to Olympus.

Cato Ekon was the son of Athena and had worked as an aprentice librarian before his mother came to the library. She had explained how he was born from her love of reading and that he could now live with her on Olympus and have access to her library.

Mirage Smoke was the daughter of Morpheus, God of Dreams. She had always lived with her father in his palace. She would occasionly accompany him while he gave mortals their dreams at night.

They also asked questions about Bane, but he wouldn't answer the ones about Tartarus. He didn't dare try to remember what happened until he had to.

After a while, Hermes came out and told Bane it was time to go in. Bane said goodbye to the Demigods as he followed the God into the palace.
