Hades led Bane through the palace, going deeper than he had in a long time. They went past the dungeons and into the catacombs.

This was the place where Hades placed the bodies of immortals who had fallen in battle or had faded from existence. The tombs held the last of their Divine essence, preserving them in time. Every time a new Immortal was born, a tomb was constructed for them.

But Hades had built a special one to protect a boy that Zeus would have locked up with his cursed father.

It was a golden sarcophagus that depicted scenes of the devastating effect the time had on the universe. It was built for the boy's father, but he had been imprisoned in Tartarus.

Hades walked over and removed the lid. Inside was a boy with pale blond hair wearing a white shirt a size too big as well as baggy pants. He would have been the same age as Bane.

Bane came over and looked into the tomb, "Who is he?".

Just then, the boy in the tomb gasped for breath, opening his eyes. One was gold while the other was entirely black with a bright red pupil at the centre.

"This is Kaleb Akal, Half-Blood son of Kronos...he's also my half-brother and your uncle," Hades added quickly, half hoping that neither boy would hear.

"Say what now?" Bane asked, looking up at his father.

"Lord Hades?" Kaleb said, sitting up, "What's happening?".

"Kaleb," Hades explained, "This is my son, Bane La Mortis. I need you to lead him through Tartarus to find out how the Monsters have escaped".

"But...my father...Zeus..." Kaleb started.

"Please," Hades pleaded, "The Underworld will be destroyed otherwise".

That seemed to convince Kaleb because his eyes went from nervous and scared to steely determination. He picked a golden scythe up from inside his tomb and held it to the light. "I'm ready".
