Kaleb's POV
Kaleb Akal walked through Tartarus with Bane La Mortis, occasionally hiding behind a rock to allow a monster to pass by.
The only reason that the two boys weren't crippled by the poisonous air and the burning ground was because of the storm and the boots.
The boots were made for them by Styx so they could traverse over the floor of the Pit without too much pain. But the boys could still feel the burning rock through their boots.
But the storm was what scared the boys the most. Violent winds pushed them backwards while thunder and lightning played keep-away in the 'sky'. This was too powerful to be the work of Zeus, and it was too far under the earth for him to reach anyway. This was the work of Typhon, the final son of Gaia and Tartarus. After the Titanmonarchy and Giantmonarchy failed, Gaia created Typhon. He was a monster whose entire body was made up of violent storms, blizzards, floods and other natural disasters. Some say that instead of legs, Typhon had thousands of tentacles that ended with dragon heads as well as huge wings.
Typhon had married Echidna. The half-woman and half-serpent creature was the mother of monsters and Typhon was the father. The Chimera, Hydra, Harpy and even Cerberus were their children.
And Kaleb and Bane were in their backyard.
