The night was cold and I had been moved into the palace to keep an eye on Winter, and so he could keep an eye on me. He had been locking my door while he had assume I was sleeping but, little did he know that that room he had put me in in the palace was the very room Tera had given me for whenever she had to stay late working in the palace, I had kept a secret ladder at the window so that at night when I was supposed to be sleeping I could run off to the gardens and play with the fire fly's.
I walked around looking for Frost but I heard a strange swooshing noise behind me. It was not loud but it was still close and, I knew that there was not a river, creek or a waterfall nearby, there was only the quiet hum of the villages around me.
I spun around in fear and was ready to attack but to my surprise I had no intention in hurting the elf in front of me. "Hurricane?"River, why are you here?" He asked.
Why are you here? You are supposed to be dead." I said.
Does Winter know you are here?" He asked.
Yes, I am living in the palace." I answered.
And he has not killed you yet?" Hurricane asked.
No, not yet." I answered.
Well then leave!" He snapped.
No, I am trying to save the continent from destruction." I hissed.
You are supposed to stay away from him! That is why I saved you all those years ago!" Hurricane growled.
Well I have to try and save it, I was a child back then, what else was I supposed to do? Now I can do what I can for the continent." I explained.
I do not like that you are doing this, I have been following you ever since you came here, and you have not noticed anything strange, it would be easy for Winter to kill you." He hissed.
You have no idea who you are talking to!" I snapped. "I can fight! I have a good teacher! I am learning!"
Yes, but that does not mean that you can kill him." He answered.
Since when are you telling me what I can and can not do?!" I hissed.
I am trying to keep you from killing yourself!" He snapped.
I am your queen, and I order you to leave me." I growled.
You can not do that!" He hissed.
I can do whatever I please." I answered.
I do not live in the water kingdom anymore, which means that you are no longer my queen!" He snapped.
Reaver!" I cried and he appeared behind me with Frost at his side.
What is going on?" Frost asked.
This man is, bothering me." I answered.
River, this is not the way to do this." Hurricane said.
Who is this?" Reaver asked.
Someone whom I do not want around me." I answered.
Who are these elves?!" Hurricane asked in confusion as Frost went up to him.
We are Rivers family." Reaver answered with a growl.
I thought that your family died?" Hurricane said in confusion.
They did, but my mother whom adopted me, had children." I explained.
So who is this elf?" He hissed as he looked at Reaver.
I am her father." Reaver answered with a growl.
Nope." I answered.
Step father."
Still a nope." I replied.
Closest thing to your father." He said.
Yes, that is correct." I answered.
Good, I am glad I got it correct that time." Reaver replied.
So, this is your family?" Hurricane asked.
Yes, and they are a darn good one." I answered.
How long have you known them?" He asked.
Not that long, but, I trust them a lot more than anyone right now, and you just disappeared without another word, you show up suddenly! And how am I supposed to know that you are not just working for Winter!?" I snapped.
Ha! There is no way in hell that I would ever, ever, work for Winter!" Hurricane hissed.
Well, I have no clue if you are lying or not, because you faked your death!" I growled.
I did not fake my death." He replied.
Well you disappeared, I thought that you died." I said.
He killed my family! He killed everyone in there! He had seen me, and he left me there, I saw everything happen, I could have done something, and I did not do anything, I could not live with that, me being the one he let live, when he killed everyone else, I can not live with that guilt, that I should have died too." Hurricane explained.
I am their queen, and I should have done something, but I did not leave." I snapped.
Do not make this about you!"
I am not making this about me!" I cried.
Hurricane looked up at the sky and glared. "Damn it River, now I am late."
For what?" I hissed.
A meeting." He growled as he began to walk away.
It has been years, and you are just going to leave?" I asked with tears in my eyes.
Yes." He answered coldly.
I watched him disappear again and I could feel my heart breaking.
Wow, he was rude." Frost hissed.
I did not speak, I looked at the ground with tears starting to stream down my face.
Hey, River, are you ok?" Reaver asked.
He left me." I mumbled.
Yeah, so?" Frost replied.
I-I loved him." I whimpered.
Why?" He asked.
He was one of my best friends for a while, until he disappeared." I explained. "That night, when, W-winter, killed, all of those elves in the temple, I realized, how much I had fallen for Hurricane."
River, I am sure it was just a very small feeling." Reaver said.
No, every time he was around me that night, I felt my heart fluttering." I answered.
You fell in love with that piece of-"
Frost!" Reaver snapped. "Watch it."
Sorry father." Frost replied.
Come on, I do not want to be any later for our meet up, I have things to tell." I said as I began walking...
