I sat there, on a chair that was made of the finest oak wood. Teacher and Frost watched as I did nothing. They had brought me food and I hadn't eaten anything. They hadn't started discussing anything at all, they just tried getting me to talk, and I did no such thing.
You can't be silent forever River, he's just another elf, he doesn't matter." Frost assured me.
Frost, be quiet." Reaver hissed.
Why? I understand it." Frost replied.
How could you know about all of this Frost?! You have never been in love!" He snapped.
Sure I have." Frost growled.
Really? Who were you in love with?"
Frost looked away in anger, but stayed silent. I rolled my eyes. "I cannot believe he spoke to me like that, what happened to the gentleman he had been when we were still kids?"
Pardon me but, what?" Frost said.
At the water temple where most of the elves inside were killed, elves under the age of seventeen were not to be inside, and it was always welcome, but, the children would turn into their older self." Moral explained from the doorway.
He was so handsome, and kind, when he assisted me out of the water, my heart practically melted." I said with stars in my eyes, remembering that night, before it all went horribly wrong.
If he acts that way towards you, then I am sure it is not meant to be." Reaver replied.
I wish I had never met him." I mumbled.
River, I think that you should hurry back to the palace, I am quite sure that Winter is going to check on you." Moray said.
Yes, I should be getting back." I replied with a long sigh. "Well, goodnight, I'll see you in the morning."
Goodnight River." Reaver and Frost said as I left.
That had been a simple moment, but there would be no time to chat with them the next day, I would be supervised by Winter for the rest of the week, while I would have to help Gloria with things.
As noon neared I sighed and looked over at my shoulder, Winter had looked away. I was going to take any chance I got at saving Gloria from something terrible. "Listen, I need you to sneak out of the palace after the moon is high in the sky and your father has taken time to fall asleep."Why?" She asked. "I would never sneak out."
Please, I have something I need to tell you and, well, Winter does not exactly trust me." I answered. "Just, meet me in the gardens, even if you do not come, I will be there."
Well, alright, I will take that offer." She replied.
Thank you, there is just so much I need to tell you."
It better be important, because I will be telling my father this if anything else happens there." Gloria hissed.
I gulped. "Understood."
She glared at me and smiled back at her father and then looked at me and glared again. She was simply terrifying.
I continued collecting snow for Winters room, and, he kept his eyes on me the entire time, he never looked away again, he just stared at me.
River, would you come over here?" Winter asked with a tint of hatred in his voice.
Of c-course." I stuttered as I gently placed the thirtieth basket of snow I had collected on the ground. "What do you wish to speak with me about?"
What were you and Gloria chatting about?" He asked with a hiss.
Just how well the elemental kingdom is doing under your ruling." I answered.
Now me, River." Winter hissed. "You should never lie to a king unless you are there to assassinate him."
I would never lie." I gulped.
Are you certain about that?" He asked.
Yes." I answered.
Well then, my apologies." He growled. "I still thought that you were a lying child like you had been when your Aunt killed your beloved mother."
How dare you!" I snapped as I stood up to him bravely. "I saw you that day Reaver brought the news! Your face was glowing with hidden joy! You were happy that my mother was dead! You only wanted the throne!"
Such lies!" He growled. "How can you possibly accuse the king during a Winter so cold, when I can easily cover you in ice and make you a sculpture of my liking!"
This is my point!" I hissed. "You are threatening me! You are telling me that if I do not be quiet about this, then you will kill me!"
None sense." He snapped.
Yes, it is none sense that you do this, the kingdom deserves to know!" I roared, grabbing the attention of anyone who was nearby. "You better not lie about caring for my mothers death ever again! Do you hear me!? King Caspian was almost as evil as you! And almost as powerful as you! And guess what! I killed him! I took him down and I took his place as the Water Queen, and I shall do the same with you!"
He grabbed me by the waist and stared me in the eyes with anger in his eyes. He pressed his lips up by my ear and I could hear his growl. "Never, threaten me again, understood?"
My eyes were wide in fear and I wanted to scream and get away, but horror overwhelmed me and I nodded. Gloria had not noticed that anything was going on because she had carried on farther away and was unaware of our disagreement.
Winter left my side and looked out towards Gloria and put on a fake but yet convincing smile. "Now back to work River! I do not want my kingdom to be overwhelmed by all the snow that winter has brought us this year."
I nodded and looked up at him with anger trying to free itself from within me. "I suppose I will get back to it then." I hissed. I went up to him and asked pulled him down to my level with force. "And you better not worry about me, after all, I am just a child."
And without another word, I went back over to my basket and continued gathering more snow...
