Chapter 22

The ride to the kingdom was quiet but I was full of fear and I played the image of the dead bodies in the temple. Why did they have to die? Why did he kill them, and why had he killed Hurricane?
The carriage stopped and my heart stopped. My breathing became rapid and I started having a nervous breakdown. Frost noticed and rolled his eyes as he got out and came over to my side. He opened the door for me and put on a fake charming smile.

Your majesty." He said while grinding his teeth.

Thank you." I mumbled as he assisted me.

Frost!" Someone roared.

I froze in terror in front of the carriage. The air was already cold and I could see frost all over the ground. And there was frost in front of Frost as well, and in the center of the pathway there was a small wall of ice, and on the other side was the palace and the figure of Winter.
There was a thought that came across my mind, telling me to run but within seconds it was already too late, if I were to run, Winter would capture me in ice.
He did not notice me at first but after he got close enough he looked at me a snorted in disgust.

Who is this?" He growled. "Where were you?!"

Finding her." Frost hissed.

And who is she?" Winter growled.

This is the water queen." Frost answered.

Too young." Winter replied.

She is better than you." My brother said.

So, what is your name then?" Winter barked as he turned his attention towards me.

M-my name?" I stuttered.

Yes your name! What is it!" He snapped.

Her name is River." Frost growled.

R-river?"

Yes, she is alive. And guess what "All perfect, and great king" she is here to kill you! Like she killed Caspian." Frost snapped.

I-I am n-not here to kill anyone.' I whimpered.

Hehe, of course not, maybe I should escort you to your room where you will be staying." Winter said.

No, you will not be doing that because she is staying with my dad and I." Frost replied.

Frost, you know that I am your father, that means that I have control over you." Winter hissed. "I think River here, would be much happier in the palace."

No no, I would not want to interrupt anything important going on, and, I do not think that you should take care of me, that would be very rude of me to do." I answered.

It would not be rude at all." Winter assured me but I saw right through him.

No, I would much rather be at my brothers house." I replied.

Very well then." He hissed as he shot Frost a deathly glare.

Frost! Who is the girl you have brought home?" Someone sang.
All of a sudden a girl Frosts age appeared who looked quite like Frost himself. "Father dear who is this? Has my brother finally found love?"

That is a horrible thing to imagine, falling in love is a sin and yet falling in love with your own sister is even worse!" Frost cried.

Sister?"

I easily figured it out after that.

This is River, our elder sister." Frost explained to the girl or, our sister.

Amazing! She looks nothing like us at all but maybe with some magic we will be able to fix that and make her a little more pale, then she will certainly look like a sister to us."

She does not have to look like our sister because she is Gloria." Frost hissed.

Right well, I am Gloria, princess of elementals and this is my brother Frost, prince of elementals." Gloria explained.

Are you that dumb?" Frost asked.

Oh hush, I have been told that, introducing everyone around you including yourself is polite." Gloria replied.

It is an honor to finally meet you, princess Gloria." I said.

Oh please, we are sisters, call me Gloria." she answered.

Thank you for letting me stay in the kingdom."

It is only a kingdom, everyone comes and goes, it is truly no big deal, thank you for coming to visit my family and I." She explained.

I am going to take River to Reaver, he will know where she can stay." Frost said as he grabbed my arm and started dragging me somewhere beyond the palace.

She will not enjoy being there Frost, Reaver is no father to us and all he is truly, is just rubbish." Gloria hissed at Frost.

Yeah well he does not kill anyone anymore like your great leader." Frost snapped.

Just you wait until he slits your throat in your sleep." Gloria warned.

It did not take long to get to find Reaver. He was outside in the open eating something in front of a cute little cottage.

Father, River is here." Frost said as he pushed me up towards Reaver.

H-hello, General." I mumbled as I looked down at my feet.

Frost, have I not told you to be a kind gentleman?" Reaver asked.

I was, but she kept arguing." Frost said in a low growl.

What is the matter with her? She looks terrified." Reaver said.

She just met Gloria." Frost answered.

Y-yes, she was l-lovely." I quietly said.

Well your majesty, follow me and I will show you to your room." Reaver said with a smile.

I nodded and followed silently behind him into the cottage which was cluttered with dust, books and scrolls. The cottage was a mess and it hadn't been cleaned in years. I could see part of the kitchen which was very small and was easily mistaken as just a small uncluttered space. The rooms had an odd dusty old book smell, which made sense since books and dust were everywhere. Reaver suddenly unlocked a door that had cobwebs on it, which meant that it hadn't been open for quite some time.

Here is your key." Reaver said as he handed the small key to me.

I looked and nodded thankfully at him before he led me into a very small room which oddly was not yet cluttered with books.... Yet.
