These past couple months, I have been through hell and back with the pack, which means I've been hanging out a lot with the pack. Meaning, I hung out with Stiles a lot. So, I would say we were pretty close.

There were times when I even questioned, "What are we?". Of course, I would only ask myself because I was too terrified to know the truth.

We texted all the time. We could be on the phone for hours. We have the same humor and can understand each other's sarcasm.

He made me feel special, wanted.

I guess you can say I like him. And I thought he liked me too.

"Hey y/n." I look over my shoulder and notice Scott. He seems to have a solemn look on his face.

"Hey Scott." I grab my textbook and turn to him. "What's wrong? You look like a lost puppy."

"I have to tell you something. Promise me you won't be upset." Scott grimaces.

I furry my eyebrows. "That depends on what it is." I say cautiously.

He sighs and looks me in the eye.

"Stiles and Malia are together."

My heart drops. It feels like it fell to the ground and is shriveling up into a nasty raisin.

"What?" I whisper, heartbroken.

"I'm so sorry, y/n. I wanted to tell you before you saw them. I knew he wouldn't tell you." Scott takes me in his arms and my eyes well up with tears.

I pull away after a couple seconds. "I-I thought-"

He nods. "So did everyone else. Turns out they were in Eichen together."

"A-after everything we've been through?" I mutter, trying to take this in without breaking down in front of the whole student body.

Scott nods. I sigh deeply, calming myself.

"Is he happy?" Before Scott can answer, I see him look over my shoulder. Confused, I turn around. Speaking of the devil.

Stiles is standing with Malia and he has a huge grin on his face. He looks so happy.

As if he could sense someone staring at him, Stiles looks over at Scott and I. His smile drops but not much. Tears well up in my eyes. I turn and slam my locker shut.

"I'll see you in Economics, Scott." I hurry to class, a tear running down my face.

Stiles POV

"Trust me, it's not as funny as it sounds." My smile widens when I hear Malia's laugh.

"Yeah. I bet it's funnier." She says, giggling.

Suddenly, I get the urge someone is looking at me and I look around Malia.

Y/n.

I see her eyes glass over. I watch as she slams her locker shut, walking away from Scott.

"Hey. Umm, I need to talk to Scott. I'll see you at lunch?" Malia nods and I give her a kiss on the cheek before heading towards Scott.

"She's not mad, is she?" I ask.

Scott sighs. "She's really upset. Why didn't you tell her?"

"I don't know." I rub my hand over my face. "I really like Malia, okay?"

"And y/n really likes you." Scott says seriously.

"Really?" Scott nods and I lean my head back. "Well, she dated Aiden when we were talking."

"Really dude?" Scott gives me a look. "He died. And in her arms. She moved on, which is good for her. You made her happy. Don't pull that 'Aiden' card. Especially not to her." Scott walks away.

"I really screwed up." I whisper to myself.

Your POV

I'm mentally exhausted. I had two major tests and found out the guy I like is with someone else. Today is just fantastic.

I walk lazily to my car and get out my keys to unlock it.

"Y/n?"

I freeze. Please don't talk to me.

"Are you okay?" Stiles moves and I can now fully see him. I loudly sigh and continue to unlock my car. "Please don't ignore me."

"Why shouldn't I?" I finally get the car unlocked and throw my backpack into the back seat.

"Because I'm trying to apologize."

"For what?" I go to sit but Stiles lightly grabs my arm.

"You know what." He looks into my eyes.

"For making me feel like a second choice? Again?" I break eye contact and sit in my car.

"Again? Wait. What are you talking about?" Stiles gives a confused look.

"I liked you since 8th grade Stiles. You always went for Lydia. When you finally realized she wouldn't talk to you sophomore year, you talked to me. And then we all ended becoming friends with her. You left me and spent more time with her." I rub my hands together to try to stop the shaking. "I'm always the second choice." I whisper. I take the keys and turn on the engine.

"I'm sorry, y/n. I didn't know." Stiles mutters.

"I thought it was pretty obvious. Apparently so did the whole pack." I look back up at him. "We were so close to becoming something. I was literally going to ask you today if we were something. I guess I'm just not easy enough." I put on my seatbelt and I see Stiles take a step back. "Bye Stiles."

I reverse and begin driving away from the school. I look in my rear view mirror and see Stiles with a defeated face.

I'm tired of being the second choice.
