"So then she starts talking about phosphors and the key having chemicals on it, right?" Stiles starts and looks at me to confirm what he's saying. I nod as Scott and I follow him into a classroom.
"And so it made me think of the chemistry closet and the fact that someone had to let Barrow in." He digs through his pocket and looks at me with wide eyes. "It's gone."
Scott shakes his head. "Okay. It's doesn't matter."
"What the heck? I just had it in here. I had it here this morning, I swear to God, I had it this morning."
"The key you were talking about last night?" Scott asks.
"Yeah, I showed it to you right?" Stiles starts to panic which makes me start to panic inwardly. "Didn't I show it to you?"
Scott looks back and forth between us, clearly confused. "No, you just told me about it. I never actually saw it."
"I was here a couple hours ago." My eyebrows fury when I look back to Stiles. "And the message left to Barrow spelling Kira's name was right there on the board, in my handwriting , and I had the key to the chemistry closet."
"So you unlocked the chemistry closet so Barrow could hide in it from the cops and then you wrote him a message to kill Kira?" I ask.
"I know how it sounds but look at this." He shows Scott and I some pictures on his phone. "This is the news report that came out about Barrow when they caught him, okay? About the shrapnel bomb that he used. See this? See what he did? He put nuts, bolts and screws. And then he hid the bomb and the detonator in a box that he wrapped as a birthday present. What does that sound like to you?"
"Coach. The joke we played on Coach." Scott comes to a realization.
"That was my idea. You remember? That was my idea. That's no coincidence. It can't be."
"I don't want to sound like I'm trying to tell you that you're wrong, but I don't think you're trying to kill people either." I say softly.
Stiles shakes his head. "It was here. It was all here."
Scott glances at me. I give a shrug. I don't know what's up with him either. "Dude, are you feeling okay? You're looking really tired."
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just haven't been sleeping really."
"Why don't you go home? Take a sick day or something." I suggest. "I can take you." Stiles reluctantly nods and I turn to Scott. "I'll text you later."
Scott nods and gives Stiles a bro hug before pulling me into a side hug.
Stiles and I then start walking to my car.
"Is there a chance we can go to the hospital first?" Stiles suddenly asks.
I give him a confused look before answering. "Sure."

We walk into the hospital and I see Mrs. McCall on the phone at the front desk. Stiles slowly walks towards her.
"Let me call you right back." She says when she sees the state Stiles is in.
He's clearly panicked and I don't want to say anything that could trigger one of his panic attacks.
"Is Dr. Gardner here?" Stiles frantically asks.
"Dr. Gardner's not back until next week. Do you want to try waiting for one of the urgent care doctors or-" I watch as Stiles starts rubbing his hands through his hair. "Are you all right?"
"I don't know." Stiles tiredly says. I frown. "I guess I guess not really." He takes in a shaky breath.
Melissa comes out from behind the desk and gives me a look. "All right, kiddo. All right. Come with me. It's okay." She motions me to come with her as she puts her arms around Stiles's shoulders.

"Blackouts. But not for that long. And sleepwalking, which I used to do a lot as a kid. Um... also having some really bad anxiety."
I'm sitting beside Stiles on the hospital bed with my hand in his. I rub my thumb on his knuckles to try to calm him down.
"Panic attacks?"
"Yeah, a couple." He quietly says as Melissa writes down the symptoms. "Oh, and I temporarily lost the ability to read. But that might have had more to do with this giant magic tree and a whole human sacrifice thing."
"I recall something vaguely about that, yes." Melissa smiles, attempting to lighten the mood. "How many hours of sleep are you getting?"
Stiles takes his hand from mine and begins to count on his fingers. "Eight.
"-a night?"
"- In the last three days." He counts again. "Yeah, definitely eight." He takes my hand again.
"Been feeling irritable?"
"Yeah. Possibly to the point of homicide." I shake my head slightly at his answer.
Melissa glances at me and I give a small smile. "Inability to focus?"
"No, the Adderall's not working."
"Impulsive behavior? More than my usual? Hard to tell."
"Vivid dreams during the day?"
"Okay, basically all of the above. Do you know what this is?"
"I think so." Melissa then pulls out a syringe and I feel Stiles's grip on my hand tightens.
"Uh, what's that?" Stiles asks uneasily.
"Do you trust me?" She looks firmly into Stiles's eyes.
"When you're not holding a needle."
Melissa softly laughs. "It's Midazolam. A sedative." She begins to put rubbing alcohol on a spot on his arm before sticking the needle in. Stiles keeps his eyes on her so he won't end up passing out.
"Why'd you give me a sedative?"
"Because you, Stiles, are one profoundly sleep-deprived young man. You need rest and you need it now. Lie down."
I let go of his hand and stand up, letting him fall back onto the bed.
"Okay, how long's it take to- Oh. Not long at all." Stiles mutters as I see his eyes begin to close. I sit down on the chair beside the bed and he reaches out for me.
I scoot the chair closer to the bed and he takes my hand, holding it close to him.
"Get some rest."
"Thanks, Mom."
My eyebrows shoot up and I see Melissa with a small smile on her face. Mine soon reflects hers.
