I finish drying my hair and throw my towel into the laundry basket. I saunter over to my bed and curl up in the sheets, trying to hold back my tears.
Of course he'd ditch me for Lydia, who wouldn't.
I hear the doorbell ring frantically and groan. My mom is asleep so I guess I have to open the door.
The bell continues to ring and I hurry down the hall.
I unlock the door and swing it open, freezing when I see who's standing in front of me.
Stiles is still wearing his tux but his tie is messed up and what seems to be punch on his shirt.
"Y/n. Oh my God, you're okay." Stiles sighs and pulls me into a hug. I tense.
"Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?" Even though I'm mad at him, I'm still confused.
"Oh..umm-" He lets go of me and his cheeks turn rosy. "Because I sorta left you alone."
I sigh. "It's okay-"
"No it's not." He walks through the front door and enters my house. I shut the door, even more confused.
"I shouldn't have left you like that. But umm-" He motions to his shirt. "Lydia was hurt and I needed to get her to the hospital." Definitely not punch.
My eyes widen. "Oh my gosh. Is she okay?"
"Oh yeah, totally. She'll make it." He clears his throat and looks at the ground. "I'm sorry, again." He chuckles softly.
"Really. It's fine." I give a small smile. "At least you had a good reason. I thought that you just left me to be with her but umm-" I scratch my nose. "-in a different way."
His eyes widen. "Oh God. No! I mean, sure, I've had a crush on her since the freaking third grade-" I nod. "-but I'm definitely not into her anymore."
"Oh. Okay." I try to hide my smile.
He grabs a hold on my hands and looks into my eyes. My breath hitches in my throat. "I'd never leave you behind, by the way." He softly says.
I awkwardly giggle. "Good to know."
He smiles and looks at our hands. "I think we should talk more in person, you know, since we're neighbors." I nod and laugh again.
"I gotta go. My dad is probably worried." He drops our hands and scratches the back of his neck. "I'll see you at school?" I nod and he walks over to the door, walking out.
