Katrina and Jared gathered the rest of their belongings for their trip to Catalina, Christmas was around the corner, and she desperately wanted to be surrounded by her family. They booked the cheapest flight that they could together, once they were done packing, they slumped on the couch.

She received a call from Ian.

Jared shook his head 'no', but she answered anyways since he had been kind to her, she didn't want him thinking that she gave up on her job.

After their charade with Devlin, she hadn't seen him in two weeks, she got a call from his human resource department, telling her that she had to be on maternity leave. Her time at home with Jared, and limited work, made her happy, despite Devlin's harshness towards her.

If she was supposed to be sad she didn't feel it.

"Yes Ian?" She impatiently said.

"I was wondering if you would be able to attend Rahliana's funeral this evening?" He softly spoke.

She swallowed and looked at her pamphlet that she received in the mail. It was a medium sized picture of Rahliana smiling, her father's funeral was enough for her, and she did not want to be put in another embarrassing situation anymore.

That day at Devlin's father's house was enough.

Rahliana's son shown clear signs his dislike towards her, she doubt that her family wanted her there. "I don't know Mr. Seattle; I think funerals are supposed to be private for the families, I didn't know Rahliana that well." Ian took a short pause and crossed his legs. He was at work, and Devlin stormed in his office for the sixth time about missing supplies that he couldn't find anywhere, he was beginning to think Devlin was doing it on purpose again.

He wanted some payback.

"Come on Katrina... You were her only friend in this town, Don't leave the poor woman hanging." He wanted to add more details, but he thought that got her. "I barely knew her sir... Hold on." Katrina placed Ian on mute and groaned, laying her head on Jared. "Give me the phone." He asked her, holding his hand out.

"No I don't want you to say anything mean... I need this job still, it's only temporary." She whispered, not knowing why, when she had Ian on mute. "What does he want? Does he want you to come in or something?" He asked, wanting to click off the phone.

She gave up and unmuted him.

"Hold on Mr. Seattle, I have a friend that would like to speak with you." Ian sat confused, he didn't think it was a big deal calling her, he hoped Devlin didn't secretly leave and was with her. "I could easily force her to come in to work." He evilly thought for a moment; Completely forgetting about Devlin's talk with him, he sat in silence and waited.

"Hello." Jared said in a deep voice.

"Hi, this is Mr. Seattle.. Katrina's Manager, calling from Danielyan Incorporation..."

"I know who you are." Jared quickly said, smirking at how Ian sounded. "Oh Katrina... Having to hear this poor man's voice everyday." Jared rolled his eyes and picked at his finger nails. "Yes; Well, I was just calling to see if Katrina would attend Rahliana's funeral this evening? A couple of us are attending, and it would be nice if Katrina did as well."
