Today, she decided to wear something blue.

It's been three months now, working for kale & ford. She liked her boss; She managed to get to know every single one of her co-workers, and her best friend Jared, loved to pop up at her desk, when things seemed to get boring in the office.

"You're not gonna eat those right?"

Katrina peeked at her lunch, that she packed for herself. She knew Jared would ask.

"How come; Every time, you pick off, all the good stuff?" He exclaimed.

"Greedy." She said smiling, handing him a granola bar.

He looked peeved.

"Well, excuse me, miss! I couldn't get the rest of the money, because I had to give it all to rent.. Damn... Rent is like Debo... Always coming by, when it sees something good."

She shook her head, this man was always over exaggerating.

"Good thing; I packed a second lunch for you, considering how fast, you gobbled up that granola bar; I figured that you would come after my steak sandwich next." She softly replied.

His eyes lit up, and he stomped his foot.

Katrina laughed, then handed him the bag.

"Oh my goodness; Girl, thank you! Girrrl, look at you! I'm so hungry!"

He began chowing down the sandwich.

"Did you go to Mr. Danielyan's house yesterday?" He asked her, with food in his mouth.

"No, they called, and told me that I didn't have to work, why? What's up?"

"I heard." He paused, taking a sip of his soda.

"That he's in no condition to go to work anymore.. He can't even schedule his meetings, and his wife has been canceling everyone wanting to visit him."

"How did you know that?" Katrina surprisingly  asked.

"Girl, you know my momma is nosey as hell. If she ain't at home making them blankets or scarfs, she's all up in these people's business."

"Speaking of business.. I heard, Mr. Danielyan's son, is taking over his company pretty soon! Girl.. That man is tasty.. If only he was gay."

Katrina glimpsed over at him, her look was questioning. She wanted to know more about it.

Jared paused for a minute, and seen Katrina's face, knowing that he had her, so he kept going. He didn't want to get back to work just yet.

"You know; He just got out of prison, he's been in there for a long time." Jared whispered.

"Why did he go?" She questioned.

He glared at her, he was in shock, that she didn't know already.

"He beat up a black girl, and shot her boyfriend in the head."

"He's racist Katrina.." He peeped back, to make sure no one was listening.

Open mouthed; Katrina couldn't fathom the thought of Mr. Danielyan's son, being racist.

She did think a couple of times, that he himself was, but the rest of his family? And she couldn't believe, his son, would ever lay a hand on a woman. She silently fumed, she didn't like men that hit women.. It showed a sign of weakness.

"He did his time in there though, so for him to get out.. He must have not shot the boyfriend."

"Yeah." She whispered, and continued to eat her food.

Jared didn't want to tell her all that, but he wanted to warn her, because the guy was a player, and he just thought, Katrina would be better off with someone nice, and not in and out of trouble.

He also didn't want to tell her, the rest of the reasons why Mr. Danielyan's son was in there. It wasn't his business to tell, he didn't want the trouble coming his way.

"Anyways beautiful; I asked, because... The next time when you go over there, I want you to tell me, how he's looking nowadays."

He was trying to change the subject.

"The father? Mr. Danielyan?" She laughed, saying it with a silly tone, and snorted at him.

"I didn't know you were into older men Jared? Geez, a warning would be nice."

He playfully, and dryly laughed, and then lightly pushed her. "I liked it when you were shy and quiet, I don't know what this gremlin is in front of me..."

After they ate, and got done with work, they decided to take a stroll around town.

The sky had a beautiful gray tint to it, and everyone seemed to be inside, so it felt like they had the whole town to themselves. Katrina wanted to stop at 'Carols Sweets', and get a chocolate bar, Jared wanted to stop at the hot dog stand after; Teasing her about her period.

"You know? I don't get why you poor unfortunate souls have to bleed, and be in pain, and we don't have to deal with any of that.. Thank You Jesus, for fixing me!"

"Stop it!" She exclaimed, grabbing his hat, and placing it on his hand. "You know, one day I wish men would trade places with us, you will feel exactly what I'm talking about!"
