Starling City

"So, why did you leave the theatre early last night? in the middle of a movie no less?" Bucky questioned walking with Laurel home to his apartment. Bucky had just come back from his 6 month stay in Afghanistan under the extremely warm conditions and the first thing he did was to take Laurel on a movie date. They've been seeing each for a year following the shipwreck of the Queen's Gambit.  It all started with Bucky giving her a shoulder to cry on and one thing lead to other and the next thing they were seeing each other.

"That was because I remembered that I had a paper due this weekend." Laurel told him like she told him the night she left the movies.

Buck raised an eyebrow not believing her excuse.  "Really, or is it because of the fact that you don't wanna take a chance with me like you did with Oliver?"

"What are you getting at, Buck?" Laurel asked slight annoyed at his persistence.

"Come on, Doll. I've known you since we were in diapers. What's bothering you?"

Laurel sighed seeing that she had no choice to but tell him truth. After all as he put it, they've known each other since they were in diapers.  "When I discovered that Oliver had cheated on me with my sister after my graduation, I was so incredibly angry and furious at both of them and it only made the betrayal worse when I found out on the news that she was with Oliver and his father when the Gambit went down,  despite Dad's warnings to her of not seeing him again. I just don't wanna repeat the same mistakes like I did with Oliver. Rushing into things."

" And here I thought that you were gonna say that I'm a bit like Oliver. A womanizing jackass." Bucky replied, feigning hurt.

"I didn't say that."

"You didn't have to." Bucky said knowingly. "But here's the difference between me and Oliver. I'm not a jerk, I don't lie and I sure as hell don't cheat on every girl I date."

"Come on, Bucky. You and I both know that you're not one girl type of guy." Laurel said

"Depends on the girl, Doll."  Bucky shrugged .

There was a pause between the two while Laurel sighed as they stopped at his apartment building while she closed the distance between them and pecked him on his lips. "I have to go home and finish my paper." She murmured as she walked away from him heading back home to finish her paper.
