Chris smiled at seeing all of his extended family celebrating their latest victory at the Cortex in Star Labs. This never gets old. Growing up, he'd always wondered what would be like being part of this from the stories he'd told them and now he was getting a small taste of it. It felt good.
"Aren't you gonna telling them about the next crisis?" He turned to see Dinah standing next to him.
"No." Chris replied not wanting to bring down the joyful mood. "Let them celebrate their victory. Because the next crisis will have everyone on their toes."
"Worlds will live. Worlds will die." Dinah began.
"The multiverse will never be the same." Chris continued.
"The Crisis on the Infinite Earths event." Chris and Dinah finished in unison.
"They're gonna beat him Chris." Dinah reaffirmed her beliefs.
"I know they will." Chris replied. "I'm just afraid the victory will come at a heavy price."
