She did it. She actually did it. Laurel killed Darhk as she promised she but when it really started to sink in and what she'd just done after leaving Star City Plaza, she felt immense guilt and sadness because by killing Darhk, she lost a huge piece of herself. Was it like this when Oliver made his first kill or for Sara when she was in the League of Assassins or her father? Losing pieces of their souls until there was nothing.
She was looking out to the city, her city from the rooftop of their headquarters as it reached the early hours of the morning. She saved this city by taking a life to save others but at what cost? She removed her mask off her face and took a glance at it. When she came back from Asia, she promised herself to be better than the others but now after having to take a life to save others, it meant nothing to her now. And in that moment, she made a heart breaking decision.
"So much for keeping that promise." Laurel murmured dropping the mask to the ground as she went through the roof door leaving the rooftop. Black Canary is no more... For now.
