He shouldn't come back. He really shouldn't. He knew it. He freaking knew it and yet he came back home. And now he was going to regret ever coming here. He saw a picture of himself on the news as a prime suspect in an attack on City Hall that took place in the early hours. He wasn't even there in the first place. He was buying plumbs for Gods sake!  By now ARGUS must've heard about this and are probably gathering all forces to capture him.

He was pacing the floor back and forth thinking about getting out of here when he tensed hearing heels clacking on the floor. Knowing that it wasn't the police, he took a spot behind a corner to see who it was.

"Heads up, Laurel.  ARGUS special forces is approaching from the south."  The Arrow informed.

"Understood." Laurel replied not taking  her eyes of the diary reading a small sample of what he wrote on one of the pages. She felt a presence behind her and she slowly turned around to see a weary and tense Bucky. He looked different from the one she knew.

"Hey Laurel." Bucky greeted, smiling meekly at Laurel who had to blink several times to make sure that she wasn't seeing things.

"Bucky." Laurel whispered before embracing him in a hug, her eyes were starting to tear up. "I can't believe it."

"It's me, doll." Bucky reassured her pulling her away gently. "Listen, I wasn't even near City Hall when it happened. I don't do that anymore."

"They've set up a perimeter and are now entering the building."

"I know, Buck." Laurel said, believing him by looking at him in his eyes and having to read the file she got from the Arrow about his tenure at ARGUS and the Winter Soldier Project.  "But the people that think you did are coming here now and they don't exactly planning on taking you alive."

"That's smart." Bucky admitted, nodding in approval. "Good strategy."

"They are heading up the stairs."

Panicking inside, Laurel looked out to the window for some reassurance but she didn't get any so she was on her own. "This doesn't have to end in a fight, Buck. Just turn yourself in and maybe I can prove you didn't do it."

"That'll be a problem, Doll. It always ends up in a fight." Bucky said knowingly as he took the glove off his metal hand.

"5 seconds." Arrow reported.

"You saved me and my father from Dollmaker. Why?"  Laurel demanded wanting to know why.

"I don't know." Bucky lied and Laurel knew it right away.

"Yes you do."

They were both interrupted by a flash grenade crashing through the window.  Acting fast, Bucky picked it up and tossed it back out, it exploded in mid air. Knowing that it wasn't the last one, Bucky had to pick up the mattress to shield himself and Laurel from another flash bang that just went through the window.

He heard the door being slammed repeatedly by a battering ram that was no doubt caused by Argus special forces, so he flung a nearby table throwing it onto the door to buy himself time to escape. Two Argus soldiers swung in on their cables through the windows. Bucky went to punch one Argus soldier hard, dazing him while Laurel pulled the rug under the second one sweeping  him off his feet as he was about to shoot Bucky.  Bucky slammed the special forces member he was fighting into the wall, rendering him out cold. Another ARGUS soldier entered the apartment through the balcony firing at Bucky, forcing him to hold up his metal hand that repelled the bullets marching against the soldier before grabbing his head and slammed him into a shelves. Seeing that he was still standing but stunned, Bucky picked up a large cement brick and threw it into his chest breaking several ribs and possibly lung.

"Bucky, please!" Laurel pleaded to him seeing the carnage. Giving her a blank stare, Bucky thrusted his fist into the wooden floors picking up a back pack inside the wooden floors. "You're gonna kill someone!"

"I'm not gonna kill anyone." Bucky deadpanned.
