It's just one drink. Laurel kept telling herself that as she held a bottle of vodka in her hand at her apartment three days after the announcement of her father's death. It's just one drink. Just one drink. She won't relapse. But the bottle is also an grim reminder of what she had gone through after Tommy and what her father went through after Sara was reported dead at sea almost 10 years ago.
"I miss you, daddy." Laurel whimpered throwing it away in frustration, the bottle shattering into a million pieces while staining the wall with its contents. She couldn't do it. She just couldn't do it.
