Star City
The Former Air Force Pararescue Sam Wilson had just come home from his morning run and was about to drink orange juice straight from the bottle when he heard the knock on the door. Peeking through the curtain to see who it was, he was surprised to an old army buddy Lyla Michaels and a blonde woman at his door step. He opened the door to greet them. "Hey Lyla."
"Sorry to barge in Sam, but I was hoping that you can cook us some breakfast if that's ok with you." Lyla told him apologetically. Sam shook his head in reassurance.
"Of course not. Come right in."
-
"Everything ok?" Lyla asked eating toast with butter noting Laurel was barely touching her breakfast in the kitchen.
"I don't know." Laurel sighed. "When Dad told me and Sara about his cooperation with Darhk in christmas, we were so angry at him because he was the one who always was lecturing me about doing it by the book and he has made a deal with the devil. I remember Sara punching him once he was finished. But when I saw Dad's dying declaration on his cellphone before I gave it to Felicity and heard what really happened to council member Guggenheim, I realized now that he was trying to protect us."
"I understand. At least your father made the deal for the right reasons." Lyla reassured Laurel while understanding her feelings too, because she too was angry at Waller after what transpired in Kasina with Senator Cray and how she used Floyd Lawton as the scapegoat last year. "Me? When I joined ARGUS after my divorce, I knew I was heading into a new territory and I thought I knew I was doing but after what I just learned... I guess I can't tell the difference anymore."
"Maybe you're in the wrong business." Laurel said and Lyla chuckled.
"No. I'm in too deep to get out now anyways. Besides, I'm a soldier, it's my duty to complete a mission." Lyla replied. Laurel smiled sympathetically.
"So. Now that we know what Operation Genesis really is given its Biblical meaning and how Darhk is gonna execute it, the real question is where is the Ark located?" Lyla wondered.
"It has to be somewhere in Star City considering that HIVE has been in Star City for the last 25 years." Laurel said thinking back to the attacks led by the Ghosts around Star City the past year. " "So besides Darhk, who else knows about Darhk's ark?"
Laurel and Lyla looked at each other as they've come to the obvious conclusion. "Milo Armitage."
