Two Paths, One Fate (Drarry fanfiction)

Boom

Harry's P.O.V

Figures in the dark were rushing towards us.
My heart was beating fast. I had not expected this to happen so soon.
Immediately, I got out my wand, putting Draco and Hermione behind me.

One figure shot a curse at us, a burst of green light shooting out of their wand.
Luckily, we dodged most spells and blocked them.

The others began to join in, illuminating the dark arena, sparks of light flying everywhere.

Maia, the Slytherin girl and Eleanor, the Ravenclaw attacked with their partners from either side of us.

Maia was alone, whilst Eleanor had Simon on her side.

I looked around frantically.
Mirabella and Theo from Hufflepuff had suddenly appeared, joining in the fight.

One of the enemies had caught me off guard and shot a curse at me, hitting me straight in the chest. 

I flew backwards into a thick tree, bruising my back. 

I heard Draco shout in pain and Hermione scream.

My body aching and spasming with pain, I desperately crawled closer to Draco and Hermione.

The Slytherin and Hufflepuff girls were going for eachother now, whilst Hermione rushed towards me.

I lifted up my wand.

"I'll put up a protective charm!" I cried.

Draco came closer to me, looking injured.

I encanted the spell, and we were suddenly trapped inside a glowing white orb of light.

The spells cast toward us rebounded off the orb which grew brighter and brighter.

I reached out for Draco's hand and he grabbed it. His hands were quite clammy.

Suddenly, the light surrounding the orb was so bright, we could see nothing.

Power coursed through out veins, our hands began to glow.

We could hear screams from the outside of the orb yet we still did not let go.

The orb began to vibrate, we felt the ground shake.

"Let go!" I could hear Hermione scream. 

Bangs, sizzles and screams could be heard everywhere. 

Finally, Draco and I let go of eachother.

The orb exploded into millions of fragments of light.
The whole arena was filled with white light for a moment.

The light faded away and we stared at the scene before us.

The sky was still glowing brightly. Fragments from the protective charm flew towards the arena dome which had a cracking through it. The remaining pieces of the charm exploded against it, breaking the wards.

Bang!

Draco and I looked around, shocked. 
The whole arena had been affected by the charm.

I looked behind me and Hermione was looking around frantically.

Eleanor, Maia and Simon were on the floor, unconscious.
Suddenly, their bodies disappeared.

Mirabella and Theo were sat by a bunch of trees, looking shocked and confused. The blow of the orb must have blasted them there.

Hermione grabbed them and pushed then towards us.

"Are you ok?" Hermione asked. 

"Yes." Mirabella replied. 
Theo nodded weakly.

"But what in the world have you just done?" Mirabella said questioningly.

Draco and I looked after eachother, amused. 

"The wards are down." Hermione observed. 

"What do we do now?"  Draco asked.

"We escape!" Harry announced.
