The moments after Brandon and Arden left The Brew blurred together as they happened around her. From getting into his car, to him asking if she was okay every so often, up until the point they pulled up to the curb beside her house.

After almost getting killed by that Zoo member in the truck, time felt like it was just swirling around, with no beginning and no end. All Arden could do was replay those moments in the alleyway over and over again and think about how close her life came to ending.

As Brandon cut the engine, she looked up at her home, all dark and quiet. Part of her hoped her mom would be there...even if she knew that there was a greater chance of her being at the hospital at this time of night.

Brandon got out of the car and walked around, opening the door for her, which snapped her out of her stare.

Arden offered him a grateful smile as she got out of his car, and he closed the door behind her as she walked up her driveway up to the door. Reaching into my pockets, she grabbed her keys, noticing her hands were still shaking slightly as she turned the keys, unlocking the door and stepping inside.

Stepping back, Arden unconsciously let Brandon inside and closing the door behind them. Neither of them said anything for a few moments, both of them seemingly unsure of what to say or what to do from there.

All Arden wanted in that moment was to sit down, feeling like her legs were unsteady.

She glanced back at him before walking further inside the hallway, "Thank you for driving me home."

"I'm just glad you're okay," Brandon said softly, "That truck....it could have killed you."

"Yeah...thank you for jumping in when you did," Arden looked up at him gratefully, "I don't know what would have happened if you didn't."

Well, actually, she did know.

In that moment, Koda came around the corner, excitedly walking up to me first, and Arden bent over and patted his head before he ran over to Brandon, rubbing against his leg. Koda seemed to remember him from that one night where Brandon stayed over.
