IV.
\\ GUESSING GAME //

An alarm blared loudly, pulling Arden from her sleep, and she groaned as she turned over on her side, rubbing her eyes before opening them and seeing that she was in a different place.

She was in Hailey's room...where they had all had come to after the motel. Hailey and Rowan were stirring on the bed above her. After raking her brain of what they could do to rescue Elisia, Arden had fallen asleep on the floor, on Hailey's soft, fuzzy carpet. They must have fallen asleep at some point when they were trying to figure out what to do about Elisia.

Sitting up, Rowan grabbed her phone off the table and turned off the alarm as Hailey and Arden sat up as well. After the alarm cut off, Rowan's face changed to a dreaded look as she looked at the screen.

"Monkeyman?" Hailey asked knowingly.

Rowan nodded, showing us the screen, "This must be the first clue."

Arden looked at the private picture message, seeing what looked like an old house with a blue mailbox in front of it.

The caption underneath read: the name of the game...who am i?

"This picture...it reminds me of something." Rowan said unsurely.

Arden looked at it again, her eyebrows furrowing, and she had to admit, the picture did look kinda familiar...she just couldn't figure out why.

"Name of the game, who am I?" Hailey read, "He wants us to figure out who he is?"

Arden sighed helplessly as she sat down on the edge of the bed, "Seems like it. But why?"

"And why us? Why the four of us?" Rowan said in confusion, "There has to be a reason."

She had a point...Arden had never really thought about it. Why did he chose the four of them? There was nothing that connected the four of them together...at least not that she knew of.

"What's he going to do to her? Is it just something sick? Something totally random?" Hailey swallowed worriedly, "I really feel like we should tell your dad, Ro."

"We can't." Arden shook her head, "I really think he will hurt her if we tell someone. We can't risk Elisia's life. We have to find her."

She slowly nodded, even though Arden could tell Hailey was pretty scared. She was too...but she knew that their best chance of saving Elisia was to do what monkeyman said.
