"God, why do you hate me so much?" Keith yelled, tears of frustration filling his eyes. He was having an argument with Lance, and he couldn't even remember what it was about. He just knew that he was angry and hurt and that things escalated really quickly from their starting point, but after that question, there was no going back and he knew it.

"Why do I hate you? Why do you hate me?" Lance yelled right back.

"I don't hate you!"

"Well I don't hate you either!"

"Then why do you always act like it? Picking fights with me and being my friend then ignoring me whenever you feel like it! Why do you do that to me?"

"Does everything have to be about you? Why can't something be about me for once? Have you ever stopped to ask me if I felt okay on any given day? Or to even initiate a conversation with me? I bicker because it's the only way to get a real response out of you! And I don't ignore you, there are just periods of time where I try to see if you value our friendship enough to actually try and talk to me first!"

"I'm not a mind reader Lance! You need to tell me how you feel about things! I'm bad at this sort of thing!"

"Again making it about you!" Lance took a step back and tore a hand through his hair, which was a lot curlier at the age of thirteen than in high school. "I think we should take some time to cool off of our friendship. Get our shit together before trying to be close again," he muttered.

Keith could feel his heart hurt in his chest as the bad butterfly spread its wings over his being. "Yeah... I'll just... I'll just get going now then," he said, grabbing his things and leaving whatever room he was in.

The Omega looked behind him once before he turned around and left. And he was met Lance's face, an unreadable expression painted across it as he stared at the floor beneath his feet, hands trembling as he curled them into fists. He was frowning deeply.

Keith couldn't seem to feel anything, and he wasn't sure of that was a good thing or a bad thing. What scared him the most though, was the fact that he was confused if it was good or bad.

...

"You did whAT?" Hunk asked, caught between surprise and confusion at what the fellow Alpha just told him. "You slept over, went on a date, and kissed Keith Kogane within the three to four days I was out of town?" he asked, lowering his voice.

"The entire class doesn't need to know!" Lance hissed as he pretended to work on the Calc BC worksheet before them. He wrote down some random numbers and told himself that he would fix them later (no he wouldn't).

"Sorry sorry, but... what happened? The other day you were talking about his 'dumb mullet' and how he's so annoying and now this? Excuse me for being a tad enthusiastic to know!"

Lance sighed. "I don't know what happened! I know that I've always found him... attractive... and I showed it as if I hated his guts. But then that Friday night, I don't know okay? It just happened and now we're partners for a project in art and I'm going to see him again." Lance blushed at the thought of going out with Keith again. It was Wednesday and he didn't have a plan. He sincerely hoped that the Omega wasn't put off at the fact that Lance hadn't brought up going on another date.

Hunk smiled warmly at his friend, resting his head on his hand, "so you like him?"

Lance looked up at the larger Alpha, "uh, I think it's pretty obvious that I like him."

"No I mean, you really like him, don't you?" Hunk clarified, chuckling at the new soft expression that painted his friend's face.

"Yeah, I... I like him a lot," the Cuban said.
