The Day I Almost Lost Kent

[DAMIAN'S POV]

I think this is one night, or morning, I shall not forget. It's 4.45a.m. now. and it's pretty clear that Jon is feeling sleepier by the minutes. His eyes are slightly red, his eyes are open abit too big, and I can see he's been holding in his yawns. (Sigh and smile lovingly) Kent is such a terrible actor. I unwrapped my arms from Jon's hug already. But his arms are still on me.

Me: Alright Kent. Enough with the hugging already. Don't you think you should get some sleep now? It's close to 5a.m. We should at least get some rest rather than nothing.

Jon: Huh? Oh yea, sorry. I just feel safe whenever I hug someone or they hug me. Anyways, no not yet. I don't want to sleep yet. I will eventually, not right now.

Me: (sigh) stubborn as always Kent. So, what do you want to do? You want to use the PairPad? Or eat the junk food that Pennyworth brought us? Or what..

Jon: neither of them. I want to see more of what's in your journal. That Is, if you let me.

Me: Uh, sure. Oh yea, speaking of the journal, you said you've only read two parts of it... Which were they?

Jon: I've read the part of where Dick took pictures of you wearing Batman's cape and cowl. And also the part where Alfred was cleaning the gigantic dinosaur in the Batcave. I actually want to see those pictures.

Me: Don't you dare.

Jon: My wish ha!

Me: Jerk.... Here. Read as much as you want. I wrote down more than 20 chapters.

I got off the sofa and hand Jon the journal. I make my way to the bed. I thought of listening to some songs while waiting for Jon to fall asleep. I think it's going to be soon. I grabbed my PairPod that was under the pillow together with my earphones. I plugged the earphones into my ears and started playing the first song on my list. No Way Out by Phil Collins.

[JON'S POV]

I'm so glad to get that out of my chest. It went better than expected. I looked at Dami who was sitting on the bed listening to his PairPod. The journal Dami gave me is on my lap. I took the book and raised the it a little higher to get a better view. I randomly opened a page. Here. Another one of Dami's writing. This chapter is titled "The Day I Almost Lost Kent". Wow, he actual wrote something about me in his journal? Was it a coincidence that I opened up to this page? I'll never know. Anyways this is what Dami wrote.

April 18 2018. Today is the day where I almost lost Kent. I was at our HQ Morrison Bay under the sea just far north from Gotham. We finished school early today but Jon remained in school to speak to the teachers. I didn't wait for him. It's one of the many annoying things about him. So I left first. Later he came along. We were doing our stuff like making conversations and discussing. In out of no where, that stupid Kid Amazo punch a hole in the HQ! Causing the place to be flooded up. I was trying to find a way out under the waters while Jon takes care of that punk. I manage to find a way out and I can see that Jon and Kid Amazo is out too because Jon is floating unconscious and Kid Amazo is no where to be seen.
