Midway City

[DAMIAN'S POV]

I'm running out of time! Midnight is Christmas and it's already evening! I really need to get his gift now! I've told Raven that I needed to speak with her in private. So we walked towards the kitchen.

Raven: What's wrong?

Me: Remember just now, when Starfire told me to not be afraid in asking for help? Especially to you guys?

Raven: Yeah, Why? You need help?

Me: Sort of. Actually, yes. I need you to, follow me, somewhere, to get Jon a Christmas gift.. With you around, I could make it back to the Tower before midnight today. The gift I planned to get is located in a city, a little farther from here. With your ability to open portals, we can get there and be back in time. (looking side down) Please?

Raven: Ok? Where is this, location?

Me: Midway City.

Raven: Ok, it shouldn't take long if we travel with portals. But wait, speaking of transportations, where are your "Bat Transportations"? Like The Bat Jet? The Bat Bike? Or your own bike?

Damian: Fathe-- Batman, took every access to the Bat transportations along with him to the Watch Tower... Even Pennyworth doesn't have any spare access with him. So we ended up flying here, well, Kent flew us here, through the rain.

Raven: Wow... Batman knew you'd be up to no good when he isn't around huh... (Giggle) Ok, sure, I can definitely help. I'll just inform Kory then we'll leave. It's already 7.43p.m. There isn't much time left.

Me: Ok, just don't tell anyone else besides Starfire about this ok...

Raven: Ok, but you sure, you do not want to include another Titan with us? Maybe like Beast Boy, or Jaime?

Me: No. They'll just slow us--- (sigh) Look, I only want you to follow it's because you're the only who understands my friendship towards Jon... (Looking down) Like, really, understand it... The others? They'll just get the wrong idea..

Raven: (right hand on Damian left shoulder) I get it. Don't worry, we'll get Jon's gift and be back on time. (Hands off the shoulder)
Hmm, why don't you tell Jon that we're heading out to do some business. It'll give him an impression that you'll be safe.

Me: That's unnecessary.

I actually gave it a thought. Maybe I should tell him. I walked out of the kitchen just a little to take a glimpse of what Jon is doing. He seemed to be having a good time. Jon, Starfire and Grayson, all three of them are.. The sound of their laughter could not be missed from this distance, the expressions on their face seemed happy. I'll tell him.

Raven: Hey, I'm just saying, it's your wish to tell him or not ok..? Anyways, we'll meet back here and leave. Do you need money?

Me: No, I've brought along $7K in my belt.

Raven: ..... Wow... That's, a, large amount... Jon must be very, special to you huh... For you to spend that amount on him.. (smirk)

Damian: (tt sigh) Apparently, yes, he is, special. (Blink 3 times fast) Anyways can we go already?!

Raven: Oh right, sorry. Meet back here alright.. (walked out the kitchen)

Raven made her move, and so did I. I walked out of the kitchen and straight towards Jon. I followed Raven from behind. Raven stood next to Starfire while I got next to Jon.

Me: Me and Raven, got some things, to take care of. We won't be gone long. Just please, stay here and be safe.

Jon: May I know what "things"

Raven: Titan business.

Jon: (looking at Raven) Uh huh.. Alright, but please be back early, it's my first Christmas with you guys, I want to celebrate it, together.

Me: (left hand on Jon's right shoulder) I'll be back early, promise..

Raven: Alright Damian, let's go.

Starfire: You two be careful alright.

Me: (facing Starfire) Will do.. (Got up, and turned back to face Jon) See you in a bit. (Turned back and head towards the kitchen)

Without looking back, I turned around and walked back towards the kitchen. Raven was already there waiting.

Me: Ok, let's go.

Raven turned around, put her hood on and opened a portal to Midway City.

She moved to left from the portal and turned to face me.

Raven: After you. (Hand gesturing towards the portal)

And so we entered the portal, heading to Midway City.

I can't believe my story has reached 50 chapters... At the beginning, I thought I'd only make 20 chapters and then, done... A short fiction.. this is actually an achievement for me 😅😍..
