Meanwhile In Midway City.

[DAMIAN'S POV]

The portal has finally opened. I stepped out onto solid grounds of the streets. We've arrived in Midway City, and it seems to be, snowing here. It's, beautiful.

Raven: Beautiful isn't It? (Lifted hand into the air to feel the snow) It's such a shame that it isn't snowing at our city. If there was, we would be playing many kinds of snow activities by now. (Sigh) Anyways, we'd better hurry to get your gift, it's already 8.15p.m. Where is this gift shop located?

Me: (started walking) Yes, it's just around the next two blocks. The shop is called NinJax. It's a shop that sells many kinds of high quality gadgets, like smartphones, laptops, PairPad, and so on. Father bought my PairPad from NinJax. I just hope they're open today. Most of the shops would be closed on Christmas eve.... I hope they're not..

Raven: Hopefully..

We began walking. While walking, I noticed that there's something flying, above us. A shadowy human like figure with wings, just flew by over us. Immediately, I looked up, aiming my exploding batarangs towards it. But apparently, it was a false alarm, because it was only Hawkgirl.

Damian: Hawkgirl? (Lowering batarangs)

Raven: Hawkgirl? Oh snap!! I forgot.....

Damian: ?? Forgot what?

Hawkgirl landed infront of us with her mace firmly gripped in her right hand. Something flashing on her Nth metal belt seemed to caught my eye, the hawk symbol on it was flashing. She began talking to Raven.

Hawkgirl: Raven, what's seems to be the problem?

Raven got infront of me and took off her hood. I stood back, keeping my batarangs away.

Raven: I'm sorry Hawkgirl, but there isn't any problem. I've just forgotten to turn off the emergency signal before opening my emergency portal... Sorry.. (both hands behind her back)

Hawkgirl began laughing as she kept her mace back onto her belt. Then she took of her mask.

Hawkgirl: Raven, Raven,,, Raven... You gotta be alert before opening your emergency portals ok.. Don't give me a panic attack for nothing.. (taps the hawk symbol on the belt and stopped flashing) You're lucky that it's me who came to check on the emergency portal, if it was Carter, you guys would be in deep shit, by now.

Raven: Yeah, I'm sorry Hawkgirl. I'll be more alert whenever I open my emergency portals next time. (Giggling) Speaking of Carter, where's Hawkman?

Hawkgirl: He's waiting for me at Bobby's Steak House. It's Christmas eve, so we thought it would be nice to put our maces and masks away for tonight and just, relax with some good food. I was just on my way home to change, you know, untill I got your emergency signal...

Raven: Actually, this is kind of, an emergency, but not a crime or league emergency. You see, Damian here, (gesturing towards Damian) has to buy a Christmas gift for his friend. So we needed to hurry before midnight strikes. The emergency portal does travel faster than the normal portals so, I had to use it... I just forgotten to turned off the emergency signal....

Hawkgirl took her eyes away from Raven and looked at me...

Hawkgirl: Huh, Damian Wayne, Son of Bruce Wayne, A.K.A Batman.. It's been a while.. (Walking towards Damian and stopped infront of him) I see you have change abit..

Me: ?!? In what way?

Hawkgirl: Usually, you don't buy gifts for, well anyone, you're not one to care for anyone or anything.... I guess, whoever you're buying a gift for must be pretty special to you huh.. (smirking/teasing)

Damian: (tt) None of your business Shayera.

Hawkgirl: (chuckling) Like I said, you only changed, abit.. Anyways, where are you guys heading? I mean, most of the shops here are closed due to Christmas eve. There isn't much to see.

Raven: A shop called NinJax. Do you know if they're opened now Hawkgirl?

Hawkgirl: NinJax, NinJax.... (thinking) Ah Yes! Lucky for you both, or just you, Damian, they are. I flew past the shop 10 minutes ago and they're open.. But I'd hurry if I were you, I mean, who knows what time they'll close..

Raven: Yes I agree, thank you so much Hawkgirl.

Hawkgirl: You're welcome Raven... (Looking at Damian) and, Damian..... (chuckling)

This hawk is seriously starting to get on my nerves! (tt)

Hawkgirl puts on her mask and gave Raven a hug.

Hawkgirl: Ok, I'll be going now little birdie. As much as I love to stay and chat with you and Mr Wayne over there, I don't want to keep Carter waiting. So I'll see you soon. Bye Raven. (Letting Raven go) (Turned around and then turned side to face Damian with a smirk) Bye, Damian.. (laughing)

Hawkgirl spreads her wings open, and flew off further East.

When Hawkgirl was out of sight, I looked over at Raven.

Me: I didn't know you and Hawkgirl were, friends...

Raven: I wouldn't exactly call her a friend, she's more of a mother, to me. (Giggling)

Damian: Uh huh... So what's all this emergency portal talks and why is Hawkgirl involved?

Raven: (sigh) It's a long story. Come, (placing left hand on Damian's right shoulder) I'll explain it on the way to NinJax. (Began walking)

You guys I'm beyond excited to start on a new DamiJon/Jondami fiction! I've been having this idea since 2018 December. But before I start on a new book, it's best if I finish this fiction first. I *think* this story has a few or 4 more chapters and then it will be the end of this story. Like I always say, if the story ends, I'll write down below, The End. So yea, I just wanna give you guys a heads up that I'll be doing another fiction soon. I wont tell anything about the book just yet, it's a surprise 😁🤣..
