Chapter 28: Hatred or Love?

Lily was staring at Potter. And he was snogging someone else.

3rd person

Lily Evans slid down to the floor, tears streaming down her face, as she saw her supposedly loyal boyfriend kissing, no, snogging a different girl. Lily saw her face, it was Britney Lovelace.

Tears clouded her vision as she sobbed into her hands, soaking her palms.

"Lily. What's wrong?" a familiar voice said. It was Remus.

Lily muttered "James Potter is an arrogant toe rag."

"Lil, we thought you were over that."

"I was. Until he started snogging girls while he's with me." Remus scanned the hall and his eyes landed on a boy with round, thin-rimmed glasses and jet black colored hair. Remus sighed. He had Lily, then he blows her away. His friend was a git.

"JAMES!" Remus bellowed

James shot the pair an annoyed expression. It was as if he was over her. He stalked to them and growled,

"What was so important that you had to interrupt us?" James snapped. This action caused Lily to cry even more, leaning into Remus's chest to cry, soaking his robes in the process. Remus didn't even seem to notice.

"James. Something's wrong."

"Nothing's wrong. I don't love that Mudblood. It's Britney I love."

The redhead wriggled out of Remus's embrace and ran from the hall, towards the stairs, running up to the 7th floor, to the Gryffindor Common Room.

"Prongs, your coming with me." As a werewolf, Remus had extra strength. He pulled James towards the Room of Requirement, bringing Sirius along after they grabbed him from the Great Hall.

Sirius paced through the hall and back, in front of the wall where the Room of Requirement was, he kept thinking, I need somewhere where we could hide a secret.

A door appered and opened in front of the trio, and they all rushed inside.

"James. Prongs. You alright, mate?"

"No! You dragged me away from my girlfriend"

"You haven't even broken up with Lily."

"He called her the M word, Paddy."

"James!"

"Sirius! Your from the Noble House of Black!"

"And your Gryffindor, not Slytherin." Sirius retorted.

Remus and Sirius turned their backs on him after bounding him to a chair so he can't run.

"He's under a love potion." Sirius said in a hushed voice.

"You don't say."

"Britney can't brew that. Not smart enough."

"Only Lily, you and, hard to admit, but so can Snivellus."

"Lily and I would never."

"Snivellus then."

"Sabotage. Sabotage for James and Lily's relationship."

●~~Meanwhile, with Lily~~●

Lily ran into the common room. She had free period anyway. She flopped on her bed and cried. Wanting to distract herself, she started to study. Like a week ago. Ignoring her friends. She studied every lesson she had. She fixed herself up, brushing her hair, wiping her eyes and fixing up her robes.

She raced to the Transfiguration classroom, arriving early as usual, along with some Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs. She suddenly remembered that James was her partner for the class. Groaning, she laid out her things and waited for class to start.

James looked around the classroom searching for his seat. He groaned audibly when he remembered he was seated next to the Mudblood.

He took a seat and said,

"Hello, Evans."

"James." James gave Lily a cold glare when she said his name. Lily shrunk back a little and hurt flashed in her eyes.

"Good Morning, Class."

A chorus of "Good Morning, Professor McGonagall."s were said throughout the room

As Lily took down notes, James was annoying her none stop. He was being a prick he once was, but this time it was to annoy her, not to be noticed.

"Professor! Can I switch partners?" Lily called "James here, is being super annoying. He called me Mudblood twice." A gasp was heard throughout the class "He keeps distracting me, I can't take down my notes. He's been a prick since after DADA. He cheated on me, and he now he hates me."

There was hurt and sadness in Lily's eyes and voice. Even Professor McGonagall saw it.

"Miss Evans, may I speak to you after dinner? Sit with Mr. Black for a while. Miss Bones, with Mr. Potter." The two girls switched seats and Lily ended up in the back with Sirius.

"It's alright, Lilyflower." Sirius said soothingly as he saw tears threatening to come out of her eyes. She was hurt, who could blame her. She can't get over it that fast.

"He's under a love potion, right?"

"Yeah. We'll ask Professor Slughorn for the antidote soon, Lily. We promise." The class ended sooner than expected and the Marauders, minus Peter and James, were walking with Lily.

"Don't worry, Lil. We'll find a way." Alice said. "James loves you deep down."

"Alice is right. He does. Since 3rd year."

"Or 1st year." Sirius snickered.

Suddenly, Lily stumbled and toppled over. They all turned around. Their expressions were shocked. They would never have believed it.
