Chapter 26: Lives Continue Differently

Chapter 26: Lily's P.O.V.

We were heading to the Astronomy tower for Astronomy class.

"How was the future, Lil? Were we old?" Marlene asked with interest.

"We-We-We were dead."

"DEAD?!"

"Dead." Thinking I have already revealed too much, I shut up and walked ahead.

"How in Merlin's name did we die?!" They asked once they caught up with me.

"Not telling. I've said to much." I wanted to tell them everything, but that would change the future. Harry might never be born. We might change the fabric of time.

"But Lily." I shook my head and they looked defeated.

"Good Evening, Professor Astra"

"Good Evening, children." The class was a blur really, I did great as usual, I got praised for this, as usual, but my mind was elsewhere. My mind was in the future. On James, Albus and Lily.

"Lil, class is over."

I just nodded, thinking about Lily. She looked so sad when she knew we were leaving. And Harry. He lived with my sister. What was Dumbledore thinking?

"Password?"

"Wattlebird."

"I'm sorry the password was changed." My eyes widened.

"Um, guys. Help."

"Patronum." The portrait swung open and I walked into it.

"Where's Four and Tris?" I asked James, plopping down on the sofa beside him.

"They're in Chicago."

"W-W-What?" He handed me a piece of parchment with a letter for me.

Dear Lily,

Were sorry we couldn't say goodbye, Professor McGonagall said we were to leave now. We'll miss you very much.

I was saddened. "It's okay, Lily."

"I'm fine. I'm fine now." I said mostly to myself.

"Well, we have classes tomorrow."

"I have to go on rounds with Remus."

"Okay then,"

"Lil, let's go." Remus said. I got up for our prefect rounds and left the common room.

Tris's P.O.V.

We were home. Home.

"Tris. Concentrate." Tobias whispered as we were punching bags. I realize I had stopped. "Don't let Lily and James stop you."

"I-We still have our-" I whisper the last part. "Wands"

"And our textbooks. I know. But you need to concentrate. Your test is a few weeks away. Your stimulation,"

"Okay. I just miss them."

"And I don't? Tris, we'll talk about this later. Continue punching." He walked away to take a look at other initiates.

"Tris, what's happening between you and Four? Were just training again. It's actually better than the stimulations." Christina said

"Nothing. Nothing."

James's P.O.V.

Lily looked devastated at the news that Four and Tris left without saying goodbye.

"Prongs, I'm bored."

"Okay. Whatever, Padfoot."

"When are Moony and Lilyflower coming back?"

"Now." The portrait swung open, revealing Lily and Remus.

"Moony! Lily!" Lily was flushed and Remus looked like he wanted to break something.

"What happened?"

Lily ran to her dormitory, crying. I looked at Remus curiously.

Remus told us about how Snape was out in the corridors after hours. And he kissed Lily again.

"WHERE IS HE?!" I bellowed in rage. I threatened him 4 months ago. I will hex him into oblivion.

"James, it's 12:48 let it go. She pushed him away."

I nodded. I will kill that git.
