Cabin In The Woods

Hoping out of my car I found the keys to the cabin, standing outside I debated with myself if I should go for my bag or not, ah to hell with it I think I'll go with the latter.

Dropping on the couch I decided to take a nap because driving all night sucked, I know I lied to my brothers and told them I was leaving this morning but I had my reasons and until I don't find a way out of my problems I'll continue to hide the truth from them even if it kills me inside.

Opening my eyes I answered my phone without looking at the I.D caller because I already knew who it was.

"What Cody"

"Well aren't you a ray of sunshine"

"You have 6 seconds to tell me what you want"

"Just wanted to know if you arrived safely"

"Yes I did but what is the main reason for your call"

"Can I borrow your X-box"

"Yes you can"

Disconnecting the call I got my stuff from the car and started to prepare dinner. I didn't really like being alone in the woods all by myself but I needed time away from everyone. Taking out the pizza from the oven I sliced it and walked over to the living room.

Okay maybe it wasn't a wise idea to watch ten episodes of supernatural when you're in a huge cabin all alone. Anyhow it's not like I can reverse time and undo what I just did so I might as well suck it in and try to get some rest before Max and Maddie's arrival.

Waking up with sweat going down my body and my heart beating fast I looked around my room. Damn it, this is the fifth time this week I've been waking up like this. Knowing I wouldn't get any more sleep I changed and headed for the underground pool. Normal people would have a basement under their house or even a garage but my family's far from normal so instead of those things they built a pool with an entertainment room. Diving head first into the pool I resurfaced with a smile on my face ever since I can remember I always loved water so my dad sent me to swimming class along with many more classes.

"Alex where are you, wait till I get my hands around your neck" Opening the cabin door I saw a furious Max approaching me while Maddie had a crazy look on her face. Preparing myself for her brutal attack I was surprised when she engulfed me in a hug.

"Are you okay?" she asked

"Yeah can we talk about me later, as for you happy birthday" Max nodded and smiled, turning around to find Maddie missing Max and I shared a look.

Running towards us Maddie started to laugh with a giddy expression on her face.

"Maddie are you okay you look really weird"

"Are you kidding I'm fine, it's just, this is the first time my parents has ever let me leave the house and not have someone tail me."

"Really, well this is the perfect time for a girl's night"

"Good idea Max, we'll celebrate your birthday and Maddie's tail free day"

"Okay Maddie tell us does anyone spike your interest?" Max asked while her cheeks flamed pink at this question.

"Well ever since I came back, I kind of developed a little crush on Benjamin"

"What do you mean came back" I asked

Blowing out a whistle she started "When I was around the age of twelve I started to rebel against my parents so they sent me to an all-girls boarding school in England, I came back two years ago but I wasn't the same, my brothers told me I had changed until I met you two, you guys helped me to even out myself without even knowing it."

"Wow Lex did you here that we're like super heroes" The three of us erupted in laughter, leave it up to Max to turn a serious situation into a joking matter.

"Any how it's your turn Max anyone" Maddie asked

"Yes there is, his name is Peter, he's one of the football players at our school"

"Nice and how about you Alex"

"I haven't seen anyone" I said and went to spin the bottle

"Wow hold up there tiger but what do you mean there isn't anyone" Maddie asked with a surprised look on her face

"Maddie our little statue here doesn't believe in having crushes she wants something real"

"Okay I understand that but I'm sure you've seen someone you find attractive"

"Well your brother is rather attractive if I must say"

"Asher?" Max and Maddie asked the same time

"No, Ben he's just I don't know but let's say if I had to choose a guy I would have chosen Ben" Maddie and Max looked at me with gaping mouths.

"You're serious right" Maddie asked when I nodded my head both girls started to squeal

"My baby is all grown up" Max said as she hugged me and started to sing.

After watching couple chick flicks the girls were passed out, getting up I walked to the other end of the house far away from the girls.

Hot flames surrounded me as I sat trapped in the car pleading to be released but my request was answered by the laughter of the men who tortured me for days. Tears streamed down my face as the fire kept coming closer towards the middle where I sat. My screams grew louder and louder. Alex, Alex

Feeling someone shake me out of nightmare and calling my name, I opened my eyes to see a pair of Icy blue eyes looking into mine.

"Hey, you're safe I'm here, it's just a dream" Asher said as he hugged me close to his chest in any normal situation I would have pushed him away but right now I was glad to see him.

After trying to wrap my head around the fact that it was yet once more a dream I spoke up

"Thanks but what are you doing here?"

"I heard you screaming so I came in to see if you were okay"

"No I mean what are you doing here, in Texas"

"Oh, well you see that's a long story"

"I have time, unless you don't"

"My parents were skeptical about you girls coming out here alone so they called Nick........ Please don't tell your brothers I said anything or that you know we are here" Asher asked with pleading eyes

"I promise now continue"

"Well aren't you eager" he said with a chuckle "Nick told them that your brothers took turns every time you came here to stay. Skater girl I know you may be pissed but your brothers love you and would never let anything harm you and they can't protect you if they're nine hours away."

"I know that they are protective of me but why would they keep this a secret"

"Maybe because they knew if you found out you would always find a way out of their sight"

"Asher its getting late you should get some rest you look like crap" Chuckling he released me and rose from the bed, when the cold wind passed over me, it reminded me that I would once more be alone.

"Well I guess I'm going"

But before he could leave I mumbled 'wait' "If you want you can stay here..... Please"

"Alright" Lying on top of the blanket he made sure I was tucked in under.

Silence once consumed us and I found myself drifting into a peaceful sleep.
