When Bad Meets Worst

Whistling and dancing I flipped the pancake onto a plate.

"Lex, what are you doing up so early?" Max asked as she strode into the kitchen with a half sleeping Maddie at her side

"Well someone has to make breakfast and the both of you were sound asleep"

"Yes, but normally I'm the one to make breakfast because you like to sleep in"

"Tomato, Tomato breakfast is finished let's eat and plan how we're going to spend our week" I know I just brushed aside my bestie but before Asher left this morning he asked me not to tell the girls anything because according to him his neck would be on a block.

"Okay so there's a waterfall not too far from here, we can pack lunch and return home around three pm, how does that sound?" I asked Maddie because Max and I normal does that.

"It's fine with me"

After we came back from the waterfall we made dinner and all went to our rooms. Scrolling through my phone I looked at some of the pictures we took, Maddie was so happy when we arrived she squealed in delight and jumped into the water, then resurfaced to tell us how that was a huge mistake because the water was cold. My thoughts were interrupted by a knock on my door, opening it Asher quickly slipped in.

"What are you doing here?"

"I thought you might be excited to see me"

"No I'm not, what do you want"

"Well the guys are working and I'm bored to death so I came here to be entertained"

"Go sleep, I have to go somewhere"

"It's ten at night, where do you have to go?"

"Ugggg, you can come because I know you won't leave until you get an answer" Looking at me with a smirk on his face the both of us crept out the house.

"So where are we going?"

"Shut your cake hole and follow me" Strapping on my backpack I jumped into the water

"Crap, this is frigging cold, skater girl you do know that we're in a river right"

"Oh no kidding I thought we're climbing a tree, just follow the light on my backpack" I said rolling my eyes

Swimming under the waterfall I resurfaced with Asher right behind me, climbing out of the water I hit the lever and the lights turned on.

"Wow, where are we?"

"We're in a cave"

"It's pretty neat your parents must have one hell of an imagination"

"No one knows this exist except for my grandpa and I, well now you know" Looking at me he motioned with his head for me to continue "My dad's father was a Commanding Officer in the Marine, every time he came back home he and my grandma would take my brothers and I to the cabin. He would spend two days specifically with each of us, he made sure we got his full and undivided attention." Tears were now caught in my eyes "He taught each of us certain skills on how to survive. One day while he and I were hiking we found this place. We would come here every chance we got, we made it our Rifugio' (Safe Haven). He built this for my fifth birthday. He always told me to come here when I needed comfort. A few days after my birthday two police officers showed up on our door step and said.............. his car caught on fire. His body was burnt beyond recognition" By now my face had its own waterfall. Asher once again embraced me into a comforting hug.

After sometime I rose up and took out the package my parents had sent for me, opening a chest I placed it in with the other so called gifts I received from them.

"The last birthday I celebrated with my parents was at the age of five, after that my other birthdays were celebrated with my brothers and Max. They kept sending me presents hoping that it would make up for their absence, but I never opened not one of it, it's all stored away here" I answered the question I knew Asher had inside of his head.

"Well I know my gift isn't inside there" he said as he pointed to the chest

"How are you so sure Mr. Black?"

"Because it's on your hand" hiding my blush I dived into the water

"Come on its getting late the guys might start wondering where you are"

"How about a quick swim before we go back to the cabin, we're already wet"

"Sure"

After our little swim he gave me a piggy back ride back to the cabin.

"Okay we should go our separate before someone sees us and let me tell you, your brothers are very intimidating when it comes to you"

"But it's not like we've done anything nor have feelings for each other"

"Yes, but they don't know that, plus I like my face the way it is"

Pulling up at the gas station I topped up and waited for Maddie and Max to arrive.

Twenty minutes later Maddie walked up to me "Alex can I ask you a question"

"Sure"

"Was there a bomb on the side of the road that you forgot to mention to us earlier?"

"Uh no" I answered with a confused face

"Then why the hell were you driving about one hundred and twenty km per hour?"

"It was actually one thirty but........"

"One thirty Alex that was way over the speed limit, have you ever gotten into trouble for that"

"Nope Jen taught me a few things" Shaking her head in mocking disappoint she headed back to her car.

Okay three hours again and we'll be home, looking into the review I saw a black car tailing us, strange Asher told me they had a jeep, whatever maybe it's just my imagination.
