Land of untold stories, present days....
Regina: I stared at the deep blue sea, hoping that my message arrived to the port of destination.
"Please Henry...Please get my message..." I whispered, with my eyes covered in small tears. I stared at the pitch-black sky, the lack of stars didn't breathe me hope. I was most likely going to lose Emma into the hands of my tragic ex, prince Hamlet.
She was inside the prison Hamlet made for her, for too long, only one more hour and she'd turned into piercing cold glass, shattering into a million pieces of broken porcelain, her green eyes, lost to me, forever, in the depths of the ocean.
"Regina..." Juliet murmured, placing her hand on my arm.
I looked at the brunette, distracted.
"Yes?"
"We'll find her, I promise." She said. Wasn't it funny that Juliet of all people still had hope about love?
"Thanks'. I really appreciate it. But right now, hope won't do any good. We need Henry, he can stop all this mess with the swipe of his authorial pen."
"He sounds really powerful...I heard of someone who wielded such magic. The author of my realm, Shakespeare, but that power seduced him to the dark side, he started tainting lives with tragic endings and darkness. I tried to find more about him, in a failed attempt to escape mine and Romeo's tragic end...I failed. But your son...Do you think he can maybe use his powers to save this land? Not just from Hamlet, but from the tragic stories that were written to us?"
I placed my hands-on Juliet's arms and admired her bravery with a smile. I might never have had a fairytale like life. Being the evil queen was one of the most tragic tales of all, yet I let that life turn me into an evil killer, while Juliet and almost everyone in that land found a way to be strong, to be kind and good, even after all the terror they've faced.
When I heard Juliet's words, I admired her, as well as the other members of the resistance, from Anna Karenina to Emma Bovary. They may have paused their stories, and I blamed them for that, yet, they were braver than I could ever be, because they chose to maintain their pure heart, their virtue, even after all the terror.
Anna Karenina's curls looked like shacking springs, as she ran at the speed of sound, trying to warn us of something.
Me and Juliet stared at Anna, with our faces wrinkled like a pale blue sea of concern.
"What's it Anna?"
"It's your son, Regina...He's here!"
"He is?" I asked, as my eyes, from sad, turned to jubilee and filled with hope. "Oh my God!"
"Did you miss me?" Henry asked me. He was so grown up, and magic made me younger than I should be, I was the same age as my son, yet I saw him like the little kid with those big forest green eyes filled with imagination.
"Henry!" I grabbed his body in a warm hug and other familiar faces joined our little assemble.
"You didn't think we stayed behind, did you?" Snow asked, she looked so old, her hair was more gray than inked black, like in the past.
"Snow! David!" Her husband joined the hug.
"Hello, sis." Zelena winked at me, with a smile on her face.
"I'm so happy you're all here."
"I for one wished we could be together at Granny's, not this barnacle bay...Tell me, what exactly did this Hamlet do?" Zelena asked, with her green eyes drowned in disgust.
"He took Emma, I'd tell you why, but we're running out of time. I can't find her, I already used the magic mirror and all the locator spells I know, but this prince of darkness is too powerful. That's why I called you, Henry. It kills me to have to ask you to use the pen, I know it's against the laws, but with Emma's life on the line...." I looked terribly worried.
"We'll do whatever we have to..." Henry completed my words.
Drizella looked at her husband and placed her marble hand on his arm, encouraging him to do it. Henry picked the Once Upon a Time book and opened in a blank page.
He picked his pen and gasped a few times, conjuring the exact words he'd right, at the bottom of his mind.
We all waited, frenetic, for him to begin.
After he finally decided what to write, he held his pen firmly and placed it on the paper, yet his eyes looked frustrated, like something was stopping him from writing.
"Henry, honey, what's wrong?" I asked. Drizella placed her hand on her beloved's arm.
"I can't write..." He mumbled, frustrated.
"Why?" I asked, widening my eyes, in surprise. Zelena, David and Snow also looked intrigued.
"Because he's not writing with his heart...And I don't speak metaphorically."
"Hamlet..." Everyone whispered, as the tall blonde dark prince stared at us with a glowing red heart in his hand and a sassy devilish smirk.
"You took my son's heart and my wife?! You'll be sorry for that!" I screamed, angry, no one would ever push me like that! So I made a fireball with my bear hand.
"Ah! I wouldn't do it, Regina, because all it takes his squeeze." As Hamlet's threat was made, he started gently squeezing Henry's heart and he gasped in pain.
"No!" I whisked the fireball away.
"Now...Now...Now that you finally brought me the author, I can finally write my new story." He said.
"What? Wait...This was all a trick...Your plan didn't involve capturing Emma...You just wanted to manipulate me into bringing the author to this realm..."
"Exactly. You know you're a great student when you surpass the master! Thank you, Regina, for your lessons. And now, I think we finally write my story! And this story won't have a happy ending for you, like the last. So far, all of you were used to live in a fairytale, but now, dears, embrace yourselves, for this is a tragedy you're about to live."
