Storybrooke, 26th December 2012....
Mary Margaret: We left Gold's shop with our hearts in our hands, nauseated and with the weight of that vision in our shoulders.
After everything we did to protect Emma from her dark fate, it was heartbreaking to find out she would fall in the web of shadows.
"David, our daughter...." I gasped, with my hands on my chest.
"I know, it's terrible."
"She'll become a villain. Is that even possible, after we banished her potential for darkness?" I asked, confused, and not proud of remembering one of our biggest sins, one that reminded us that we are not "as heroic as everyone thinks".
"I don't know... But, hey, there's hope. Remember what the apprentice said, if we keep her in the light, she won't fade into darkness."
"But her love for Regina is strong, it will corrupt, now we know it more than ever. And David, we knew way back when." I reminded him, as his blue eyes turned colder.
"Mary Margaret, no... we promised not to talk about that ever again." He whispered, ashamed and fearful of me touching a delicate subject we hid from everyone.
"But we have to talk about it, especially now. David, we can deny it all we want, but we know the truth no one else does. The real reason why we put Emma in the wardrobe." His eyes turned colder and colder, my heart skipped some beats as I remembered what we truly did to our daughter. "We knew Emma was destined to be with Regina...and that's why...we sent Emma to another realm, so that the two of them could never be together." I revealed, after so many decades concealing that truth inside of me. In the ocean of secrets that was my heart.
"None of that matters anymore, fate brought them together, and now what we feared is going to happen again. We have to talk to Emma, tell her everything and then ask her to break up with Regina. She'll know it's the right thing to do, she won't risk becoming dark and hurt everyone else, hurt...Henry!"
"But... If we tell her the truth, then she'll hate us."
"We don't have to tell her everything, just the part of her future with Regina not the real reason why we gave her up."
"David, we can't! We both know that Regina knows what we did, as well, I'm shocked that she didn't even tell her already. Let's keep it that way, okay? Don't push the subject. We need to deal with this matter alone. And by alone, I mean, you and me." I said, placing my hands on his arms and my head on his marble large chest.
He exhaled sharply and softly touched my pixie raven hair, as he pressed his lips on my forehead.
"Charming, I think we were fools to think we live in a fairytale. This is more like a tragedy." I mumbled, with small tears falling from my eyes.
"Hey, don't lose hope. Remember, darkness never wins, it just fools you into thinking it does!" He advised.
"Yes, but the problem of all of this is that our daughter may become the darkness, and if darkness loses...so does Emma."
