"Gray..." Lucy crouched down. A jet of coldness speared up her veins as she stroked Gray's back, but she willed herself not to withdraw her hand. He needed her now. "Are you feeling better?"
"Let me!" Natsu slapped Lucy's hand away and began massaging Gray's back roughly. His face showed an expression that he didn't have an inkling of what he was doing. "Can you talk now?"
Gray pushed them away and chanted, "Deliora, the Demon of Disaster, why is it here? It--"
"Incoming!" Happy directed them to hide behind a boulder when two weirdos appeared.
"Toby, you basked in the Moondrip, did you?" The shortest man looked disapprovingly at his partner. He had a body of a ten-year-old boy, but his voice was rough like an adult.
The other man who had a head of a wolf barked a sarcastic laugh, "Can't you tell this is just a mask of a soft-toy, Vincent? I'm just mimicking those poor villagers. Poor victims of the spell."
They halted in front of Deliora when the click-clack sound of heels approached them.
"Guys, I have some not-so-lovely news." A young woman with long maroon hair walked in gracefully in matching colour high heels. Her voluminous hair was tied to the sides of her head in red ribbons. "I found foreign footsteps when I was patrolling the island." If a Barbie Doll could speak, it'd sound like her. In fact, the woman did look like a Barbie, clad in a maroon laced dress that fell an inch above her knees, and a pair of black leggings with gold crisscrossed pattern.
She stared at the ice sculpture with misty eyes, amid combing her hair with her fingers. "We're almost done with collecting the needed moonlight. We can't allow anyone to stand in between us now. Let's exterminate the intruders before Mr. Reitei hears of them."
Suddenly, a stone dropped on the cave entrance. Three of the weirdos sped towards it, believing that those were the footsteps of the intruders.
"Good job, Happy!" Lucy thanked the blue cat for distracting the weirdos away.
"That's as easier as swallowing a fish." Happy's wings withdrew into his back as he landed.
Lucy climbed up from their hideout and studied Deliora. "Why did they bring it here?"
"More importantly, how did they find out where it was sealed?" Gray hissed. His fists tightened.
"What do you mean by that?" Lucy grabbed Gray's trembling body, calming him. "Tell us slowly."
"Deliora... It's an immortal demon that couldn't be killed. Seven years ago, my mentor, Ul, had to give up her life in order to seal Deliora up. To prevent it from further creating havoc in the region of Isvan." Tears fell down from Gray's eyes like a string of snowflakes.
"The region of Isvan... It's located in the Northern Region, which is a thousand miles away from here," said Happy. "Why would they bring something so evil and so enormous to this island?"
"I don't know. But I'm sure the island's curse must've something to do with Deliora's existence." Mistletoe coursed through Gray's veins as he said. "Reitei... Whoever you are, I'm not going to let you dishonour Ul's name." The sound of his molars grinding against each other was palpable.
"Those weirdos mentioned something about Moondrip just now. What exactly is Moondrip?" Lucy spoke in a soft resonance, scared that any increment of tone would make Gray insane.
"It sounds like a pool full of moonlight to me," Happy hazarded a guess. "I have a bad feeling that it's something that can make Deliora resurrect too."
"Whether it's Moondrip or the Moon's Evil Spell, there's only one way to find out!"
Natsu prepared to hit the sculpture with fiery fists when Gray punched him hard at his face.
