Chapter 13 I Need You

           After the romantic night I spent with him cuddled close to me, I knew the meaning of what love really is. We crawled out of bed and started to head in the direction of my house. I realized how much I loved him, I never thought I'd feel this way over someone and them feel the same. Once we reached my house my mom wasn't home she since it was her first day back at work. He didn't stay long, due to the fact of me needing a shower. I love him being around but in the same time I need some me time. I took a nice long shower thinking about how much my life has changed since I met him. I put on some lounge clothes since I wasn't going anywhere for the rest of the day. I went through the kitchen just as my mom come throught the door "Hey sweetie, did you have a nice time with Jason" she asked with a knowing smile. "Yea I did, it was nice" I stated trying to hide the smile as I thought about the night before. Her phone started to ring, and by the look on her face I knew she was dreading answering. " I have to take this" she stated heading towards her room. I gave her a questioning look but her back was already towards me. I tried not to act as if it bothered me that she wasn't talking in front of me but then again it was her buisness. I finished my food and headed towards her room.

        Mom: Richard, she can't know right now, give it time she's going through alot and it's not fair to put this on her. She didn't see me at her door but hearing his name mad my heart stop, the only Richard she's ever talked about was my douche bag of a father. I felt as if someone kicked me in the gut I couldn't control the feeling. Yet, I didn't interrupt I felt as if I needed to hear this.Mom: I got to go...yea ok bye She hung up the phone tossing it on her bed beside her. She put her head in her hands, thats when I noticed how stressed I've made her. "Mom who was that on the phone?" She breathed heavily in shock putting one hand on her chest, "Oh sweetie, you scared me I didn't know you were standing there" she said calmly. "Who was that on the phone?" I repeated, she just shook her head "I knew this day was coming" she muttered I didn't say anything waiting for her to continue. "Honey, I need a shower and I'll be down for supper and we will talk how does that sound?" not wanting to push it for the fact of the matter that she looked as if she hadn't slept in weeks. I just shook my head in response making my way to my room before calling Riley. 

        "You reached Riley, sorry I couldn't make it to my phone I'll call you if I want to" I got her voicemail which is really weird considering she always answers me. "Hey, call me back when you get this" I said into the phone. Does everyone know something that I don't? Is this why Jason took me away last night? the questions kept popping up in my head.If that was my sperm-doner she was talking to, why does he wanna show up now? I went downstairs trying to get my mind off of what my mother was going to tell me. Mom started cooking with a lost look on her face, as if she was battling with herself. We didn't talk as she was cooking but when she was done I asked her "Mom what was that phone call about? and Who is Richard? she sighed "Your father has called me and he said he wants to meet you" she stated. I really wish RIley was here she knows how I feel when it comes to dead beat dads, her dad left her and her mother for another women. "Why does he wanna meet me now tell him to go to hell I wasn't good enough then, and I sure as hell want be good enough for him now!" I said angrily who does he think he is trying to meet me after 17 years! "Sweetie calm down...he has something important to tell you?"  she reasoned "NO, I don't want to meet him" I stated firmly. She just sighed, I can't believe she even thought I would want him in my life after what he did to her. Tears blurred my vision but I wasn't going to cry over him anymore he wasn't worth it. "You have a sister Ray, when he left he got another women pregnant and he left her to" mom said with a frown. He had another kid and it wasn't good enough for him either. I was upset that he would do that to begin with but in the same set of mind I finally had a sibling, I hope it's a girl. "So what now I have a brother or a sister?" I asked "Yes, you have a sister around the same age as you, I didn't wanna tell you this early but it seems plans got changed" she sighed putting her head in her hands.  "Your father wants y'all to meet, before he passes he's got cancer" she said as a tear fell down her check. "I'll meet him" I stated before excusing myself from the table making me way to my room. This was alot to process, a man that was never in my life had a daughter that wants to meet me. Great.
