I pushed open the doors of my room to reveal Calum sitting on the floor, stuffing his clothes into his luggage. He squinted his eyes as he did the mental sums of the amount clothes he had. He sighed and picked up his phone, placing it to his ears and waited. Within a manner of seconds, my phone let out a loud chime from my back pocket.
I was immediately startled by the loud ringing. Both of us were. Calum snapped his head towards me.
"Bay," he said. "When did you come in?" He stood up and walked over to me as I just stood there. He pulled me into a tight hug. Much tighter than the one with Ashton a few moments ago.
"What happened? Where'd you go?" Calum asked.
"Nothing. I needed to clear my head. After Ashton told us that he and Jess broke up, I just-." I admitted. Calum's features turned sad and a little jealous as he frowned and looked down onto the ground. I could only imagine how much I'm hurting him.
"You don't have a barrier anymore." He said curtly. I sighed and shook my head.
"I have barriers, Calum. I have so much to think about. Honestly, that kiss riled me." My mind flashed back to the same conversation I just had with Ashton moments ago. Calum frowned his eyes in confusion. He placed his lips on my forehead and left it there for a few seconds, and I let him. I let him. He smelled like vanilla and cinnamon. He always did. And I loved it. Then I realised I was awkwardly smelling Calum when he was trying to be serious and sentimental.
"It's nice to know that you care." He smiled. Like a real smile those that made his eyes squint.
"Of course I care." Was I giving Calum false hope? Yes of course you are. Stupid Bay. He gave me one last smirk before turning back to his luggage and packing it again. I went over to pack mine too.
The airport, as usual, was a mess. People were shouting and screaming for the boys. Calum stayed in front of me to cover my bump while Ashton stood firmly behind.
"Stay close. And ignore the questions and hate. If anyone asks for a picture, make sure I'm with you and smile for the picture." Calum leaned back and whispered in my ear before shooting a smile. I smiled back, taking in the mental note. I turned back to look at Ashton, he turned away with a sad frown.
"Ashton. What's wrong?" I nudged him after he was done taking a picture with a fan.
"Nothing." He had growled before he swapped his frown in for a smile to take a picture with a fan.
"Don't talk about it now. Just smile for the fans." He gave a little wave.
"Bay! Are you dating Calum?"
"Ew did she get fat?"
"OMG her stomach looks huge! She should eat a salad or something. "
Ignore the hate.
Luckily, I had a break from madness and drama in the eight-hour plane ride. I sat next to Luke who was in between me and Michael.
I looked out the window as it took off. One of the flight attendants walked over to me and asked if I was alright or if I needed a puke bag or some pills. I shook my head, and she would leave, only to return half an hour later to check on me again.
I felt Luke nudge me when I was looking out the window. It was night, and it was dark out. I could see the stars glimmer brighter than anyone ever would have imagined. They lit the sky up like fireflies. It was beautiful.
"Bay?" Luke whispered.
"What's up?" I replied, still looking out the window. I could see his reflection turn to look around him to see if anyone was within ear reach. Especially Ashton.
"Have you thought of a name for the baby?" Luke whispered a smile spread across his face.
"No, I haven't." I shook my head. His grin spread wider if that was even possible.
"Can you name him Luke?" Uh...
"I'll think about it." I assured him. It wasn't exactly a lie. I did think about it, and I'd just decided against it. Yet, Luke seemed pretty pleased with my answer.
"How about Robert? Or even Hemmo will be cute. Right?" He stuttered.
"How about Gordon? Or like Clifford? Clifford, the big red dog!" Michael suggested as he played the video game on his screen.
I let out a chuckle. "Are those your middle names?"
"Shut up. Ashton's funnier!" Michael sounded offended.
"Oh really?" I teased. I realised that I didn't even know Ashton's middle name.
"Yeah. It's Fletcher." Michael snickered.
I let out a hearty laugh. "Oh my gosh! Fletcher! Oh, Fletcher. That's so freaking adorable."
"Shh!" Michael placed his finger on his lips. "You didn't hear it from us."
I was still struggling to catch my breath as I nodded.
"I had a pet hamster named Fletcher." When I was 4, I had a hamster for Christmas.
Michael and Luke raised their eyebrows.
"It was a girl." They burst out in laughter, and I could've sworn that if Michael laughed any harder, we would've had to send him to the hospital for the shortage of breath.
"Oh my gosh. That's so adorable!" Luke squeaked.
"Yeah, I got it from my Dad when I was 4." I missed my family. That Christmas, Dad got me a hamster and my brother a skateboard. Neither of which lasted long since my brother's awful skating skills resulted in the murder of my hamster. I was devastated. It's been long since I've seen my brother. He went off to travel the world after college and never contacted me much.
I wondered where he was.
