They were cuddled together underneath the duvet soundly asleep until around seven. Mike and Rachel were woken by their daughter, who was jumping up and down on top of them and the bed. She trod on Mike's calf, and her mother's ankle before squeezing herself in-between their embrace.
"Dadda?" Rosalie put her face right up against her dad's eyes, his nose touched her little button one.
"Morning baby." Mike's eyes jolted open to see his daughter smiling and poking his face. She was giggling to herself adorably.
"Hey Rosy." Rachel's eyes fluttered open too, she shifted over slightly to make slightly more room. Rosalie wriggled so she was still in a comfortable parameter from both parents.
"Num nums?" Rosalie questioned looking to her father, before he smiled and tickled her stomach, causing Rosalie to squeal.
"Do you want some toast?" Mike sat up before his bare chest that had previously been insulated by the duvet and Rachel hit the cold air. He watched as Rachel's face began to pale and jumped out of bed. Swooping Rosalie out of the bed, Mike took her out, cunningly asking her if she wanted to see Harvey and Donna first. He knocked on the door of the guest bedroom with his free hand.
"Hello?" Donna's voice appeared from the inside.
"I have a little visitor for you, are you decent so that she can come in?" Mike asked politely, but secretly smirking.
"Yes, she can come in." Mike swiftly placed Rosalie onto the floor and patted her crazy curly hair down. She opened the door a crack and slid in as Mike rushed back to his and Rachel's room.
His wife was still led in bed, except her hand was on her head and she was deep breathing through pursed lips.
"Sickness?" Mike sat in front of her but leant his hand behind her so that her waist was underneath his arms. Rachel nodded, closing her eyes and grimacing. Memories of an upset Rachel imploded Mike's brain, from when she was pregnant with Rosalie, and the ferocious nausea she had dealt with. "It's okay Rachel, just close your eyes."
"Mike..." She pushed him away and made a run for the bathroom, where she brought back the entirety of last night's dinner. Mike had followed her in, and was stood behind her, rubbing her back. Rachel stifled a sniffle, before getting up and cleaning up. She brushed her teeth also, to get the taste out of her mouth.
"How do you feel?" Mike had her pulled into a hug, her head rested comfortably on his shoulder, and he was rubbing Rachel's shoulders gently.
"Shitty." She retorted into Mike's neck.
"It's okay Rachel. Remember you're bound to feel this horrible. You stay here, I'm going to have to go and make breakfast for Rosalie, just lie down and relax." Mike held her hand until she pulled the duvet back over herself, when he planted a kiss on her forehead, and embraced her once more, before making his way downstairs to where everyone else was.
"Everything alright?" Harvey asked as Mike made an appearance in the living room.
"Uh, yeah... I think Rachel and I are going to have to take a trip to the doctors today, would it be okay if you babysat Rosalie for a bit, you could take her somewhere if you want?" Mike tried his best to be as vague as possible.
"That's no problem, is Rachel okay?" Donna's face turned quickly to concern.
"Not really, we think she's come down with something. We want to go to get her checked out just in case."
"Mike, you can be gone as long as you want. Does she want anything?"
"No, I think she's trying to go back to sleep." Mike knelt down in front of Rosalie and started to help her with her blocks.
"Eat!"
"Yes Rosy, you can have food now, let me go and make it for you." Mike got up and smiled at Donna, thanking her for the cooperation. He whipped up Rosalie's toast, and let her eat it in the living room with Harvey and Donna, who he'd brewed coffee for.
"Thank you for this." Rachel hugged Donna, she was wearing grey leggings, ballet pumps and a thin jacket. She was still pale as a sheet, which helped to convey their story.
"Don't worry Rach, we've got you and Mike covered." They both kissed Rosalie goodbye, and told her to be good for Harvey and Donna, before departing for the doctor.
"Yep, you're definitely pregnant! The sack is just visible with a small little something in it at this point." The obstetrician watched as Rachel welled up mirroring Mike.
"How far along is she?" Mike asked, intrigued.
"Looks to me around five weeks, congratulations Mr and Mrs Ross." They smiled at each other, before questioning the morning sickness again. They were told the due date, the tenth of April. It seemed a partial déjà vu for the both of them, except they had Rosalie to come back home to.
"It all looks pretty good from where I'm looking at it, and you seem exceptionally healthy." The doctor smiled whilst passing each of them a tissue. They both took one and smiled at each other a little longer than anticipated.
"Thank you." Rachel said after she had got back changed.
"No problem, just remind me your date of birth so I can put it on your form."
"Oh sure, first of February 1985."
"Thank you. Have a great day!"
"Mhm." Rachel agreed as they picked up the forms and left.
"Are we going to tell Harvey and Donna?" Rachel gripped Mike's hand as they walked through the multi storey car park.
"I think we keep it our secret for a bit."
"Yeah, you're right, you can never be too safe. God, I can't wait to tell Rosalie she's going to be a big sister!"
"Neither can I." Mike replied with a grin as they reached the car.
"I know it's cheesy, but last time we did that, we got ice cream. And I'm starving after that episode this morning."
"Yes, we can drop in. Sit in or take out?"
"In." Rachel let out a deep breath after clipping in her seatbelt.
"In it is." Mike and Rachel beamed, how they were going to hide this from Harvey and Donna was beyond them.
