"Oookay, are you ready to go?" Rachel called up the stairs to Mike as he ran down the stairs finishing fastening his tie, shoeless.

"Just let me get my shoes on, and my briefcase, then I'll be ready to go!" Mike planted a speedy, unprompted kiss on Rachel's forehead, as he stumbled slightly towards the shoe rack. He picked his black brogues, the ones he wore when he felt important. This was important. They were on their way to Forsyth Ross, the brand spanking new, top law clinic in Seattle. It was a place positioned in the city, designed for pro bono cases, but equipped to handle fortune five- hundred companies. For the first time ever, Mike didn't have to ask Harvey for permission to take on a case he felt connected to. Rachel could manage the people in their firm, watch and instruct them, as well as taking the cases with Mike, giving him the legal advice he almost always needed.

"Right, let's get going." Their car had been waiting outside for ten minutes prior, ready to leave when they did. Rachel picked up her bag and slung it over her shoulder, as she followed Mike out the door. They had to be at the clinic before everyone else today. Mike opened the car door for Rachel, and she smiled at him as she elegantly climbed in. The journey felt like a lifetime, they were ready to get stuck into what they had to do.

They both slammed the car door shut and linked hands as they arrived on the path. Walking into the new building, easily finding the two main offices, one for Mike, and one for Rachel. They both went into the glass door with the inscription 'Mike Ross ' on the door, and he set his leather briefcase on his desk.

"Hey, are you sure you're okay? You got up pretty early this morning and jumped in the shower straight away. I wondered if anything happened." Mike held both of Rachel's hands with his, and brought them up to his lips, kissing her knuckles gently.

"Yeah, I was fine, just felt a little bit queasy, but I ruled it down to nerves. I'm okay." Rachel said as her voice shook slightly, but the end of the sentence sounded a little too staged.

"Hey, this happened like a week ago, are you sure? You looked quite pale." He stared into her eyes that seemed to plead him to stop haggling.

"Yes, I feel better now though, it's okay." Mike gave in as he didn't want to upset her on the biggest day of their lives. He pulled her into a hug and rubbed the back of her head, twirling her curled locks in between his fingers.

"Okay, but if there's anything wrong, you tell me. Okay?"

"Okay." Rachel bit her bottom lip as she released herself from his grip, pivoted on her heels and walked into her office opposite. They had positioned it that way so that he could always see her, and she could always see him.

She pulled out her phone whilst logging into her computer, letting go of a breath she hadn't even realised she'd been holding. Rachel had made a decision amidst all her confusion, she was going to call Donna.

"Hey, Donna, is this a good time?" Rachel pulled the phone to her ear as the line was almost immediately answered.

"Sure, Rachel, how are you? Isn't it the big day today?"

"Yeah," Rachel smiled, "Mike and I are so excited, I just have one quick thing." Her thumb and index finger met the bridge of her nose and her elbows hit the desk.

"Oh no, that sounds dangerous. You sound upset."

"No, not upset, I'm unsure, perplexed,  and you're the person I come to. You're amazing with this stuff. Donna, I think I might be pregnant."

"Holy shit Rachel, are you kidding? What makes you think that?"

"I've been feeling ill in the mornings, and this morning I did throw up, I'm a month late, Donna I don't know what to do. We want kids, but we didn't plan them until after we are comfortable with our careers. How am I going to tell Mike?"

"I think you need to be honest with him. Maybe cook him something, get him in a good mood. He's not going to be upset, maybe just shocked. This is a baby, your baby. But first, you need to take a test to be sure."

"Yeah, I think I'll go and grab one from the pharmacy at lunch today. Then I can be sure, and I can tell Mike tonight."

"Hey, Rachel, it's going to be okay. You can phone me when you know the result to let me know, and you can update me on how the first day of the clinic went as well."

"Okay, thank you so much Donna, I love you."

"You're welcome, love you too."

The line cut as Rachel placed her phone down onto the desk and Mike's hand placed on her shoulder. She froze slightly, wondering how long he had been there.

"They'll start to arrive now, so I'm going to start on the first case, then we'll do the brief. Okay?" Rachel relaxed.

"Yes, let's do this."
