Chapter 10

She felt something wet touching her cheek with a tickling sensation. She squirmed in her bed trying to cover her face. She opened her eyes and saw that it was a dog, a golden retriever; it stepped away when it saw that Ezzy was awake.

"Oh, hey boy," Ezzy said.

"Why does it always have to be a boy?" the dog asked.

"Did you just talk or was it my imagination?"

"I talked, and yes I can speak," the dog snapped.

Ezzy screamed as loud as she could and even forced more sound out. She could hear people coming down the hall. Within a few second, the door flew open and seven people stepped inside.

"Are you okay?" they all asked.

"That dog just spoke to me," Ezzy said covering herself up with the covers and against the headboard of the bed.

"Oh, that's just Bella," Xavier said. "She's a kidder."

"Well, I don't kid," Ezzy replied still very shaky.

"She's too bitter," Bella said.

She and Xavier looked at Ezzy and then at each other and started to laugh.

"All of you out," Elli snapped. "She needs to get changed."

"For what? Where am I going or what am I doing?" Ezzy asked.

"Dad wants to talk to you."

"Oh, and you are...?"

"Elli, remember?"

"I know I've met you before, it's just gonna take me a while to get it down."

"Ohhh, well hurry up on it," she snapped.

"Did I do something to you?" Ezzy asked bitterly.

"No," Elias said through the door, "she's just a bitch on a regular daily basis."

"Get out before I chase you with my swords," she said running toward the door. "It's nothing personal, it's just how I am," she said turning to Ezzy.

"I like you already," Ezzy said.

"Good, now you're gonna love me when I get you in the shower," she said pulling her out of bed. She dragged Ezzy to the bathroom turning on the shower and threw Ezzy in after she took off her clothes. She shut the curtains and Ezzy screamed in pain.

"Why's it cold?!" she asked.

"You need to get used to it. Water's not hot at this hour. Everyone already took a shower and there are more then 25 people living in this house. We all share the same swage. You need to get up early if you want a hot shower."

"Bitch!" Ezzy screamed.

"I know it is."

"No, I meant you," she said.
