Chapter 15

                As Ezzy went to her room, she was still in shock. What had happened tonight? Nothing and everything made sense to her. She had no intentions of hurting anyone, but she had lost control—all of it. When she saw Elexa’s body just laying there—motionless— it had reminded her of Adalin’s exact positioning on the ground and all the blood around her body. She tried to stop thinking about it while she took a shower. She put out some pajamas and underwear and turned on the shower. She got undressed and slowly made her way into it. She felt filthy and as if she hadn’t taken a shower in years. She let the water hit her hair with her eyes closed; she ran her fingers through her hair and leaned her hair back. When she brought it back up, she looked at the ground and saw blood. It was probably from the girl. Ezzy begun to scrub her hair desperately to try and get it all out of her hair, but the more she rubbed, the more blood that came out of it. She screamed and begun to cry franticly like a kid who just cut their finger.

                Venus was in her room bored and hating Ezzy for grounding her. She was flipping through channels trying to find a reality show to watch, but apparently Lup Oras didn’t have any. In comparison to the Humdrum World, Lup Oras watched the same movies, had the same shows on TV, but always kept it family like so that no matter what was seen on TV, kids could watch it. If they wanted to be dirty, they had to go to a certain place to get DVDs. Venus finally stopped to watch NCIS which had always been one of her favorite shows. It was the episode about an exploding tomb and they find that the murderer is killing people at random and at the end, the girl they thought was innocent turns out to be the killer: pretty gruesome episode. Venus was watching the part where the girl gets caught cutting a hand off of one of the victims when she heard a scream. She scrambled out of her bed and ran to Ezzy’s room. She found everything in good condition, no signs of fighting or struggle. She decided to go to the bathroom where she could hear the shower running. She opened the door to a fog and entered slowly. She went to the shower where Ezzy was and saw her sister sitting in the corner with her head leaning to the side against the wall. She seemed to be in shaking with her arms around her knees and while she stared straight forward, crying. Her eyes were red and puffy and her nose was just red. Venus entered to try and snap her sister out of whatever it was that was bothering her, but all Ezzy did was stare and repeat “I killed her” over and over again.

“Ezzy,” Venus said one more time. She was getting wet because she had just entered the shower without turning the water off. She saw spatters of red on the wall and it smelled like blood inside there. Venus begun to get too scared so she went for help. She knocked on Abel’s room and waited for him to open the door.

“Venus,” Abel said surprised.

“Something’s wrong with Ezzy,” Venus said panting.

“What do you mean? Where is she?” Abel asked.

“She’s in her shower and she won’t respond. What should we do.”

“I’ll get Elli,” Abel said already on his way to Elli’s room.

                He knocked hard on the door and Elli answered with an agitated expression.

“What?!” she snapped.

“Something’s wrong with Ezzy,” Abel said.

“Where is she?” Elli asked, now worried.

“In her shower,” Venus replied.
