Chapter 21

"Meimei?"

Meizou called out to his sister who was lying on the floor. He scrambled towards her in worry, shaking her limp body.

"Meiza?" He repeated but she didn't move. Meizou inhaled sharply and scanned his surroundings. They were in a poorly lit room, which seemed to be underground judging by the dim lights and no windows.

He noticed a number but he couldn't analyse it as much when he heard his little sister breathing heavily.

"Meimei!" Meizou exclaimed in a whisper, hugging his sister tightly. "Are you alright?"

Meiza blinked a few times looking around the dim room. "My head hurts a little..." she replied.

Meizou rubbed her head gently and helped her stand up. Meiza took in her surroundings, the knot in her stomach getting tighter by the second.

"Where are we?" She asked. The last thing she remembered was those two men in England and then she blacked out. Her hand flew to her wrist to stroke her bracelet but it was missing.

"I don't know. I was waiting outside the hospital for Ju when someone hit my head," Meizou explained.

Meiza frowned and turned to her brother. "Why were you and Ju at the hospital?"

Meizou froze and rubbed the nape of his neck nervously. He stayed quiet which allowed Meiza to think of the most obvious reason: Ju was pregnant.

Meiza playfully punched Meizou's arm and pretended to be angry. "You idiot! Why don't you use protection?"

"I'm sorry! It was an accident okay? Anyway we shouldn't be talking about this right now, we have to get out of here!" Meizou complained and Meiza giggled at her brother's reaction.

"How do we get out of here?" Meiza questioned and she noticed three figures walking up to them.

"That's a good question, Meizie. Unfortunately for you two, there's no escape," a deep voice rang out. Meiza grabbed Meizou's hand and Meizou kept his sister behind him.

Whoever these people were, he wasn't going to let them hurt Meiza.

Ah Si had sent a car for Lei as soon as he landed and was impatiently waiting of him to come back. Shancai was desperately trying to calm him down but she was also worried for Meizou and Meiza.

"Daoming Si, sit down before you tire your legs out," Shancai whined and Ah Si, frustrated, kept pacing up and down. Shancai sighed, "HEY! Aren't you going to listen to your wife?"

Ah Si huffed and sat down reluctantly, not wanting to upset Shancai further. He couldn't help but worry about his two best friends.

"Ah Si!?" Lei's voice rang throughout the mansion, making Ah Si jump to his feet.

"Over here Lei!" He shouted back in response and waited for the quiet boy to walk in to the living room.

"What's going on?" Lei immediately asked and Ah Si sighed, rubbing his face in frustration.

"I have no idea! We were out at a club one night and the next thing I know he's missing! Ximen and I searched for him everywhere but he was gone. His phone is not on either," Ah Si explained.

"What happened with Meiza?" Shancai stood up standing in between Lei and Ah Si.

Lei closed his eyes and took a deep breath, "I went to get some lunch for us and when I came back to where I left her, she had vanished. I found this in an alley." He showed the married couple Meiza's bracelet.
