Chapter 39

"Where are we going?" Lei asked Meiza who had tried her best to conceal any information about their destination.

"You'll see soon," Meiza smiled cheekily and leaned her head against his shoulder. It had been a few weeks since Ju gave birth and she was given the okay to come on the trip as well. Mian still had to stay at the hospital but since this was only a weekend trip, Ju obliged.

"I've actually never been to Sanya before," Ju whispered to Meizou who had an arm around her shoulders. He had tried to get Ju to stay at home but she insisted on coming on the trip. She didn't want to miss Lei's birthday.

"You'll love it. I promise," Meizou smiled and kissed her forehead lightly.

"Almost there!" Shancai screamed to the back from the front. Meiza couldn't calm down her excitement. As soon as she caught a glimpse of the beach, her eyes sparkled and she couldn't wait to get in.

"Are we in Sanya?" Lei asked, looking at Meiza who was excitedly staring at the beach. He smiled at her reaction.

"Hmm?" Meiza asked again, her eyes still fixated on the glittering beach. Meiza noticed Lei staring and chuckled to herself. "Sorry. What did you say?"

"Nothing," Lei replied and continued watching her beautiful eyes shine.

"Can we go to the beach now?" Meiza asked excitedly once they were inside Ah Si's house. She was so eager to play in the water - the last time she went to a beach was for one of her colleagues birthdays and it wasn't exactly one party she liked to remember. However, she had missed the feeling of splashing around in the water and the sun warming her skin.

"One second, Meiza. We have to change!" Ah Si grumbled in reply as a helper hauled his and Shancai's suitcase up the stairs.

"I'm already changed!" Meiza whined like a baby. She impatiently waited for everyone to get changed - admiring the house and the view of the ocean.

"Meiza?" Shancai called her name from the entrance and Meiza zoomed towards her. Shancai almost shrieked when she saw Meiza running towards her. "Calm down!"

"Sorry. Are we going now?" Meiza asked with wide eyes. Shancai nodded and Meiza almost jumped up and down in her spot. "Let's go!"

She dragged Shancai out of the house and ran towards the beach, the rest of the gang following behind. Shancai almost died trying to keep up with Meiza but she also couldn't help but laugh at the girl's enthusiasm.

"Yay! We're at the beach!" Meiza squealed like a five-year-old and pulled her white, baggy t-shirt and black shorts off, leaving her in her dark blue two-piece.

"Oh my..." Ximen's jaw dropped as the four men stared at Meiza running towards the water. Ximen turned to Lei who was frozen in his place. "You don't see that everyday here."

Lei blinked twice before shaking his head and snapping himself out of his daze. They walked towards the chairs and left the rest of their stuff before heading towards the water.

Meiza, already in her element, waved at Shancai and Ju to hurry along as the others entered the water. Meiza immediately took this opportunity to splash them, catching them off-guard.

"Oh you're asking for it," Ah Si huffed and was about to retaliate when someone splashed him from behind. Shancai snickered behind him, only to be engulfed by a spray of water which she already knew should happen.

"Ju, you can come closer," Meizou said to his girlfriend who was inching away from him as he moved closer towards her.

"I know what you're going to do Meizou and I'm not falling for your little act," Ju shot back and tried to push Meizou away from her.
