Wasn't that nice," someone spoke.

I gasped and hesitantly turned to look back. I gaped upon the sight of Margie standing before me with a wide sheepish grin.

I trailed around the area as if checking something before directing my gaze back to Margie. I unconsciously gulped the tensed-lump stuck between my throat in order for the words to get out.

"M-margie," I stuttered, biting the insides of my cheeks as I was facing her.

"I never knew Cameron and you have become friends again? Despite what he did to you before, you still had the gut to chat with him," she questioned with astonishment.

"And you're not even afraid what will happen once Jen finds out. Does she know about this though? Cause the last time I heard you talking to Cameron, you almost had a facial wash at the swirly of doom."
I sighed a deep and semi-loud one.

"That was nothing," I exclaimed.

She was eyeing me as if wanting to investigate something, like waiting to see for any signs on my face. I had to roll my eyes downwards to avoid hers.

She grinned. A grin that was genuine yet suspicious at the same time. I kept on walking a couple more steps, made a turn to a corner leading to the back of the school, and she walked with me. I stopped and decided not to proceed. It seemed that Margie has no plans of leaving me alone.

I went back to searching for the area again. I tried my best not to make it obvious.

It was a fail, however. "Are you looking for someone?" She asked. "And, why did you come here?" Her follow-up question.

I simply shook my head, hiding the lie within it. Truth is, I was looking for someone. Tom was supposed to pick me up today since we were planning to go to a nearby mall to buy new loose clothes for me to wear.

His purpose to tag along was to buy some parts he needs to fix his motorcycle. And might buy some booze as well while we're at it.

Regarding her 'why' question, I merely replied with a smile. Tom most often park his motorcycle here to hide it from everyone. To get to school, he climbs up the bricky wall (about 8 feet tall) like a burgler sneaking inside somebody's house.

But, no matter how hard I scan, there was no sight of him. I could catch a tiny glimpse of the back of the motorcycle but no Tom.

He must have noticed that Margie was with me so he chose to stay out of sight for a while until she disappears.

"You should go now Margie," I said. It was more of a request actually. She cocked an eyebrow in confusion.

"What about you?" She was tilting her head a little.

"Uhh," I scratched the side of My cheek while releasing a dubious chuckle, "I was.. uhh... I thought I left something at the back of this school," I went on. It was a stupid alibi, I'm aware.

Her face was screaming 'I don't buy it'.
After a blink or two, she nodded as if she was already convinced.

I happened to peek over my shoulder when I tilted my head to the left. Tom was sauntering his way towards our direction. He was twirling his keys around his pointing finger as he was making his way.

I was eyeing him, signalling him something with the use of my eyes, gradually gritting my teeth from the inside. He wasn't looking. His face was turned elsewhere.

"I think it's weird for you to be coming here. I heard that Jared, from Gym class once saw Tom smoking around here somewhere. What if we stumble across hi--"
