"Something's wrong," I mumbled with a voice volume only audible to Wes and Liz. Both of them shrugged and sat on the chairs adjacent to the office's door. We were waiting outside Principal Wilmer's office, trying to figure out what is happening.

I was confused why did the Principal wanted him in his office. He hasn't done anything bad so far. Well, not within this month. He hasn't bullied anyone, he didn't go to school drunk, and he didn't skipped any of his classes.

Or at least that's what he told me.

"Geez, what'd your boyfriend do this time," I heard an annoying voice popped out from nowhere.

"Shut it Jennifer," Cameron shushed her as he released his hand from hers. I raised my eyebrow but quickly dropped it and shook my head. I should just ignore her... Ignore both of them.

Paula, the other girl, and Cameron's Halo bandmates appeared as well. I didn't took the liberty of taking in their presence that much. Liz, on the other hand, couldn't stop staring at Carter who had recently dyed his hair in purple.

I opened my mouth to say something sarcastic but lucky for Jen, the school bell for Afternoon period had rang.

"Cameron," Jake, a guy with a dark mohawk, said. "We better get to class," he continued. Cameron nodded and dismissed himself. He gave me a peek and nodded as well, without any smiles, as if just wanting to say he was leaving.

Paula told the same thing to Jennifer. She obviously looked pissed but she went anyways. I heaved a sigh of relief, thanking the universe for letting me not have further interactions with any of them.

Liz stood up, tapped me in the shoulder, and told me that we should get back to class as well. But, my attention was stolen by Tom being inside the Principal's office for a reason I have no idea of.

I wanted to stay even though I know I couldn't. And I mustn't. I decided to go back to class in the end and convinced myself that nothing negative is happening.

It's probably just a commendation for doing a good job. I convinced my brain.

Though half-heartedly, I turned away from the Principal office's door and stepped forward. I held Liz' hand and she held my hand back with a comforting smile.

On cue, we saw Margie strutting towards us. She was throwing me stabbing glares that I looked away out of impulse. She passed right through our side without uttering any words.

Unwillingly, words spat themselves out of my mouth. "Where are you going?"

I am aware that she's snubbing me but I can't let this moment slide. I had the feeling that she was going to the Principal's office.

She confirmed that feeling with her response. "Principal Wilmer called for me," she said... With a smile.

I fell confused again. There was a glint of gibe in her voice and the way she looked at me was really off.

I muttered a "what?" but before she could say anything, the door opened.

Mrs. Yngrot's head peeked out behind the doorframe and called out for Margie to come inside.

My mouth remained agape and my eyes stared at the door closing. My heart became heavy, as well as the rest of my insides. The pit of my stomach made a turn as question marks danced around my mind.

"It's probably nothing. We really need to get back to class," Liz declared and dragged me through the hallways where Wes followed behind us.

The three of us were basically running.
