[PACE]

Even I was a little confused of the whole thing.

How did the cops knew we were here? Did Tom inform them? But how is that even possible when I only told him this location while we were on the way here. And during those times, I hadn't notice him pick up his phone.

Well, except the part where we met up at the bar to come here.

The cops handcuffs the loser goons, meanwhile Brandon tried to flee. However, one of the cops hastily shot him in the leg causing him to drop on his feet with a loud whining cry.

They helped take the chains off around me, and one of them called for the paramedics to take care of Tom.

I wanted go near Tom but one of the cops, the younger looking one, halted me.

"He's my friend. I just want to see if he's okay."

"Don't worry. The paramedics are on the way. You can check up on him at the hospital."

I nodded and didn't insist any further.

Soon enough, the paramedics did came. We were all outside the building now. Cop cars were lining outside. And so was the ambulance.

Brandon and his goons were being knelt down with their hands on the back of their heads. They were being examined if they were under the control of drugs and/or alcohol. Knowing them, it's an absolute yes.

Tom was being carried to the ambulance by the paramedics. One of them was busy treating my wounds.

I'm still confused who called the cops.

A scary looking man approached me just in time as the paramedics finished covering my wounds with bandages and casting my arm.

"You know Tom?" He asked in his loud growling voice. I nodded my head as I gawk at him with astonishment. Actually, I was taken aback by the fact that this cop knows Tom.

Well, he did develop a reputation in his town so I guess that explains it.

Unexpectedly, his clenched fists grasped a portion of my shirt's collar. He was frowning as his eyes dug deeply through my eyes. I could sense anger just by staring at him.

"Where's my daughter?!" He asked. I was confused and caught off guard.

Daughter?

Then it hit me. Tom mentioned Gabby's dad was a cop. So... This man must be her dad.

"Do you mean Gabby?" I asked to confirm.

His frown curled closer and his grip tightened. I gulped. All I could do was stare at the ground with a look of empathy. I hate to be the one bringing him the bad news. But I'm not a man of flowery words. I'm not a man who states directly to the point either.

We were both already assuming the same thing, until a familiar voice was squealing from somewhere.

"Baby!!!!!!"

I glimpsed to the corner. My jaw dropped open at what I saw. I felt a tear streamed down from my eyes, in which I quickly wiped away before anyone could see.

I noticed Brandon was surprised seeing her as well. His gaze trailed her as she came closer to me.

"What?! But I thought you died!?!" Brandon exclaimed. "Big G made sure of that!"

I noticed Big G's facial expression turned upside down. "Uhh... About that boss.. I forgot to tell you--"

"I escaped. Dzuuh," Rose finished the sentence. Brandon glared at the big man beside him. The latter shrunk down on the inside because of guilt and embarrassment.
