I jumped in the shower one more time to freshen up real quick after mine and Rick's little game and scurried into my room. I saw an abundance of new clothing, accessories, shoes, hair products, perfumes, you name it, it was probably there. I couldn't believe my eyes. "How did he get all this by himself?" I said to myself out loud. "I went on a special run for you" a voice said behind me. I jumped a little and Rick laughed. "You went on a special run...for me?" I asked, completely shocked. "Yeah well I figured" he started, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear. "Special run for a special person." He kissed my forehead. "But. How? How did you manage to carry all of this back by yourself?" I asked curiously. There's a lot of stuff here. And he never took one of the cars.
"Right down the road there's what used to be a highway. Take a right at the end of this road and you're on said highway. Down a little further is a mall. We had cleared it out long ago. I wasn't alone, I took Glenn with me. He needed some baby stuff. My whole intention of the trip was to grab stuff for you. Glenn thought it be best if we help everyone out since we had so much room in the truck. So we filled it with clothes and stuff people would need. I made Glenn take the UPS truck back here and then I went back and grabbed items I knew you would need. Necessities and such."
Rick continued talking. I was lost for words. I know in this new world, money no longer matters and we don't need to buy things anymore...but the boyfriend I had before the apocalypse never got me anything. And I mean, he got me nothing. Ever. Not even for my birthday or anniversary or holidays. Nothing.
"And I grabbed clothes that I thought would look nice on you. I hope the sizes are right. I picked the sizes my wife used to wear. You're about the same size as she was." "Rick I can't even begin to tell you how thankful I am!" I jumped into his arms. "The boyfriend I had before all this never did anything like this for me. I love everything!" My eyes caught a beautiful white dress with gold sparkles on it. "I'm glad you like everything" Rick said, giving me a warm smile. "I'm gonna wear these" I said placing a pair of jeans on the bed. "And this" I added a blue long sleeve shirt. "And these" I grabbed a pair of black boots. I proceeded to drop my towel and get dressed right in front of Rick. Not like its nothing he hasn't seen before anyway.
I put everything on and looked at myself in the mirror. I turned around and showed off for Rick. "How do I look?" I asked, giving him a model pose. He laughed and pulled me close. "Absolutely beautiful" he whispered as he kissed me. I giggled. "Let's get outside then." I said taking his hand and leading him to the door. As I opened it, I saw something I absolutely did not want to see.
