I woke up and it was still dark. I wasn't sure what time it was but that didn't matter. I had to pee so I got up and went to the bathroom. When I walked through the hallway, I heard voices so I stopped at the staircase and listened. It was Rick and Shane. "She's the first person I've cared about since Lori..." I made a face. 'Lori? Who's Lori?' I thought to myself. "Man it ain't your fault she left. Nobody predicted she would leave our camp for someone else's. Nobody thought she'd leave you. She loved you" Shane said. My eyes grew wide. Lori is Rick's wife. Holy shit. I thought she left him before this all went down. I listened more. "Well what about Sara? You guys seem to have something good going on." Shane said. I smiled thinking of all the times I've shared with Rick. "I don't know Shane. Something about her....about us....is different, better." I moved a little closer to the edge of the stairs to hear better. "I-" Rick hesitated. "I think I love her." My heart skipped a beat. Rick loves me? "I love her more than I ever loved Lori. And I was married to her for 6 years." I couldn't believe what I was hearing. 'I must be dreaming' I thought. I walked to the bathroom and peed. I pinched myself and it definitely hurt so there's no way I was dreaming.
I washed my hands and dried them and left the bathroom. I heard Rick coming up the steps. "Hey you. Everything okay?" he asked. "Fine. Just had to pee" I said, pretending to have not heard anything Rick said. I couldn't stop smiling so Rick knew something was up. "Why are you so happy?" Rick asked, flashing a smile at me. "No reason." I said as I walked past him. I wanted him to chase me. I want him to hold me and confess his love for me. He grabbed my hand as I walked past him and pulled me by the arm and put my back against the wall. He put his arms on either side of my shoulders. I looked into his eyes. I couldn't resist and I kissed him. Rick smiled through the kiss and pulled away. "Sara there's something I have to tell you." Rick started.
I looked deep into his eyes. "Yes Rick?" I said batting my eyes. "I-" Rick started. "I have to tell you - remember I told you my wife left me?" I looked down, thinking this conversation would go differently. "Yeah" I said sadly. Rick sighed. "Well, she used to be part of this group. She left for someone else's. I had a really hard time getting over it because I loved her so much." I looked at him. "Why are you telling me this?" I asked. He looked straight into my eyes. "I'm telling you this because I couldn't get over it. Not until I met you." My heart fluttered and I got butterflies. "That first day I met you, I knew you would be someone who would mean something to me. That you would be a part of my life for forever. I am no longer upset that Lori left. I was married to her for 6 years and never felt for her the love I feel for you." He looked at me smiling. "I love you so much, Sara. I've fallen so hard for you" he said as he grabbed my face and began to kiss me. The kiss was passionate and rough at the same time. I pulled away and whispered "I love you too Rick." He pulled my lips back to his and they collided again. His tongue licked my lips, asking for entrance that he already had access to. His body was so close to mine that I was pinned against the wall. He pulled away from the kiss and began to kiss my neck as his hands touched the outside of my thighs. I put my arms on his shoulders and jumped and wrapped my legs around him. He kept me against the wall as we kissed. "Rick" I whispered as he kissed my neck. He continued kissing as the words spilled out of my mouth. "Make love to me"
