We got to the mall and drove around the parking lot to get to the store we needed to enter at. Looking around, I noticed Mac trucks just sitting in some parking spots. "Rick, look!" I pointed them out to him and he drove over to them. "Stay here" he said as he got out of the UPS truck and went to check out the Mac truck. It had a huge trailer that we could hold more stuff in, hopefully the driver left the keys in the truck like they usually do. Rick got in it and searched for the keys. He found them, started the truck and gave us a thumbs up. I guess that means there's gas in the tank. We all abandoned the UPS truck and ran for the Mac. I was beyond excited at this find.
We drove over to the store we wanted to enter at and a few walkers were lurking around the entrance. We killed them off and Rick backed the truck up to the doors. We opened up the back door for easy access and then went inside. We entered through a clothing store and it looked like nobody had even touched it. People probably thought the mall would be too overrun but in fact it was the complete opposite. Only a few walkers in each store.
Rick and I grabbed a few of those deep baskets with wheels and just threw clothes in them, removing the hangers to make more room. I emptied all the racks I could because I had no idea what sizes everyone would need. It was good to have extras anyway. Walking towards the truck with my baskets I emptied them out and went for a different section. Shane and Andrea were doing the same, we could basically clean out this mall if we wanted to. It was only about 12 noon. We have all day.
"Hey Rick?" "Yeah babe?" he replied. "Let's see how much of the mall we can clear before we leave tonight." I said with a smile. This could be a fun game. Rick came over and kissed me. "That sounds like a good idea." He said. "Shane, Andrea! Hows it going over there?" "Good! This side is just about empty!" Shane responded. Rick and I met up with them. "We are going to get as much stuff as we can from this mall today. There's plenty of room in that truck and there's tons of different kinds of stores in a mall; clothing stores, shoe stores, game stores, hair stores. We need as much as possible and we need to be fast."
